Add Meta Data, Remove Permalink from Recent Posts

Hi there,

I recently updated my child functions.php file to show excerpts using the recent post shortcode, however I’m stuck on two spots: removing the permalink from the excerpt and adding meta data between the title and excerpt any chance you can lend an assist?

I am afraid that you may not be able to remove the permalink for the excerpt. It is because the whole item is enclosed with the link and that includes the image, title, excerpt and the post meta (date). Removing the link for the whole item would mean recoding and restyling it which is already outside the scope of our support because it is already a modification of the recent posts element. Please be advised that our support only covers getting your site set up, bug fixes and minor cosmetic changes.
