I’d like to add an item count to the cart icon in my menu nav. I’ve tried a few other methods from this forum but nothing seems to work.
Any recommendations?
Thanks!

Hi There,
Thank you for writing in, regretfully that is not a feature offered by any of the shopping cart menus. I’ve added this as a feature request so it can be taken into consideration for future development, this way it can be taken into consideration for future development. All of these items are discussed with our team internally and prioritized based on the amount of interest a particular feature might receive.
Thanks!
Standing-by, thank you. I just got the WP Menu Cart plugin and it does what I need for now but of course I would love to see this in the X-theme.
Hi There,
Thank you for understanding, actually, we have that in the standard header of X and PRO (see Theme Options > WooCommerce > Navbar menu), but not yet on the Cart Menu elements.
Cheers!
Bump this! I’d really like to reduce the number of plugins I need to use and adding this feature in the PRO header builder would be very helpful! Thanks for all your hard work.
You’re most welcome!
So I’ve used WooCommerce Menu Cart https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-menu-bar-cart/
and it’s ok, but of course you lose the modal cart functionality built into pro theme.
also you can’t without buying the pro version have the cart addended to more than one menu. so if you’re using headers properly you might have multiple menus for different use case scenarios/devices and you won’t get to have your cart icon with the counter on all your navigation/header implementations.
so I guess this is me here saying please @Nabeel and the crew at theme.co make this happen sooner than later…
having a cart show you there is an item in it is a prerequisite in modern ecommerce… this is a must have, must include feature… I really can’t stress enough how important this is and I really can’t beg you strongly enough to make it happen sooner than later…
I actually didn’t realise this was not happening until today (co-workers had not mentioned it & I don’t implement sites as much as I work with clients any more either) I love how the modal pop up works with the cart, having a few options of how to display or overlay the item count would be no doubt ideal, but for now just a number overlaying with total item count would probably do the trick, no options just a simple # overlaying the cart icon in the nav, so the modal does not break and so it actually still works… sound good!?
check out our attempt to make woocommerce menu cart work… here http://punchbowl.ca/ of course I’d love to hear if there is a better solution than this…
thanks so much Theme.co team !

Hi there,
The cart modal element is only possible with header builder, it’s structure is different than a menu. Bug I agree with count feature on menu items. I’ll add this to our issue tracker, for now, you may use the said plugin and apply some customization.
Thanks!
Is there some CSS you can provide for this? I’ve been waiting for it for www.vitstix.com and I think its integral to any ecommerce site.
Ya, we’ve got it working better now with the plugin I mentioned check out https://punchbowl.ca/ now… we have a pretty decent additional bar on the header some custom css for the style to correct font colouring. and lots of little padding tweaks using the header builder… I think it’s OK.
I would much much prefer additional settings on the modal to allow:
sometimes i’d want (say for mobile users) just a # overlaying the icon with the item count and maybe a mouse over that spits out the basket total value in $$$$s etc…
basically these types of UX tweaks are very very typical if not prototypical for ALL eCommerce implementations… I would say that over half of all the pro theme lisc we own and our clients own are destined for ecommerce in the next 3-6 months if not already. having this working better is very important to us and we believe the the long term success of Pro as a leading in class eCommerce template/page builder system for wordpress coupled with all the other conversion biased design queues this UX tweak will go a long way to bolster UX and usability for our clients client’s
cheers and thanks again for all you do at THEME.CO
Hi, we certainly appreciate the feedback! our Dev Team already looking into this and plan on addressing this in some capacity, possibly during the next release cycle.
Thanks,
