Add introduction text to x_recent_posts

Good afternoon,

on my homepage I have inserted this shortcode to display the the most recent blog post:

[x_recent_posts count="1" show_excerpt="true" ]

What do I need to insert into my functions.php file to have “Latest From” text before the post title and a button afterwards that takes you to said post

Hi There,

Since the recent post has an <a> tag wrap around, you can’t add a button inside the recent post element anymore, it will braek all the HTML of recent post element.

To add the Latest From text before the text title, please add the following code under functions.php file locates in your child theme:

Thank you very much for this and the button update.

However the ‘Latest From’ text did not appear? Inside the code I could not see this title?

Hi @hyperdrive_boom,

You mean adding Latest From for every post title? Or just above the items?

It’s either change this line from that code

. '<h3 class="h-recent-posts">' . get_the_title() . '</h3>'

to this

. '<h3 class="h-recent-posts">Latest From : ' . get_the_title() . '</h3>'

Or just add a custom headline with text Latest From above your recent posts shortcode/element.
