Add Google-Font to X-Theme Template / Fonts

Hello,

obviously not all available google-fonts are included in the template font-list. I need a certain google font there, so I’d like to add it via a child theme. I found an old tutorial here, but the paths mentionned there don’t exist anymore.

So wich file to I have to change to add a google font to be available in the template-font-list?

Best regards

Uli

Sorry, answer is not needed anymore, found the required font in the list - I didn’t realise, that it’s not completly alphabetically ordered …

Uli

Thanks for letting us know!

I would also like to know how to do this!

I’d like to use the Google Font “Spectral” in several different weights but it doesn’t appear in the templates->typography menu.

Hi There,

Thanks for asking!

Regretfully the mentioned font not available in font manager. We will be keep this in mind to include it in future release. Mean while you can check this article how to include custom google font in child theme

But this font wont be showing in font manager, you have to add it via CSS.

Thanks for understanding!

Thanks for the quick response. I will try another font first before I try adding custom CSS.

On a related note, I have tried adding fonts with Adobe Typekit and they show up in the dashboard but are missing from the fonts manager. I had assumed they would show up in the PRO user interface without having to add CSS or anything since it’s an included premium plugin. Am I missing something?

Hi there,

Please try loading the Typekit ID in the Font Manager.

Once you loaded the Typekit ID from there, the typkit fonts should be available in the Font Manager.

In case you still cannot see any changes, try disabling the Font Manager in X > Theme Options > Typography then enable it again.

Hope this helps.
