Add Audio Link To Blog Post

hi

I have had a god look through the forums but am unable to find anything on this particular topic.

Can you tell me if it is possible to have an audio link play for a particular word? Much of our site talks to people about Thailand and I want to have tiny audio clips to play so people understand how to say a word.

Similar to the screen grab I have supplied, the word would be written in Thai, then an icon would appear afterwards which, when clicked, would play the audio file.

Is this possible at all in a blog post? The link to the audio would obviously have to be inline, rather than added as a separate audio element, so that is where I am unsure - is it a shortcode used or how? I guess I would just have the audio file in my media gallery. I also need to know what format the short audio clip must be in…is it mp3?

I hoped it may be something simple like <a onclick="PlayAudioFile('/xxxxxxx.mp3')" style="cursor:pointer;"><img src="/img/speaker_sm.gif"></a>

URL for the site is http://feastthailand.com/food/vegetarianism-celebrate-the-history-flavours

cheers

hi

Just a little further, I tried the following code of Ao Pàd Thai Mang-Sà-Wí-Rát <a style="cursor: pointer;"><img src="http://feastthailand.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/speaker_sm.gif" /></a> • “I’ll take a vegetarian Pad Thai” and cannot get the mp3 file to play, so any help gladly accepted. The image of the speaker is fine, but when clicked, it just does nothing.

Hey there,

Regretfully, that is not a feature offered by X so you’ll need a plugin like Compact WP Audio Player or have a web developer build a custom function for you.

We do have an in-house custom development team that offer paid services, who may be able to assist. They can be contacted at [email protected] if this is of interest to you.

Thank you for your understanding.

hi Christian

Thanks for your reply.

OK, I have the X audio player currently handling it, but it is far too big for what I want. I’m really just after a small icon like a speaker to be used to play, so I will give Compact WP Audio Player a try.

cheers

Let us know how it goes!
