ADA Compliance

Hi there

We are in the process of rechecking our site for ADA compliance. Our site uses Theme X and is updated to to the latest version compatible with Woo. We also follow general best practices in design.

I searched the forum and found this post from 2017

ADA Compliance: Tab through links

Then I did some general Google searches for Themeco theme X and found this, https://theme.co/x/features/wai-aria-compatible/ on the Themeco site.

Here are my questions:

1. Should we assume the post in the forum from 2017 is outdated? https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/ada-compliance-tab-through-links/18688 (It states “Our theme is not Ada Compliant.”)

2. For this page on the Themeco website, https://theme.co/x/features/wai-aria-compatible/
   It doesnt state specifically that Theme X is ADA compliant, rather that its compatible with WAI-Arai

So, is Theme X ADA compliant? We are merely documenting everything.

Note, we are doing are own testing for ADA compliance.

Thanks for reaching out.

I think ADA compliance is broader than WAI-ARIA, the WAI-ARIA seems to represent the level of compliance as that’s how I understand it. I can say it is partially ADA compliant since the theme should WAI-ARIA compliant too. There were known issues for ADA compliance but minor so it’s mostly ADA/ARIA compliant and that thread was outdated.

Though, if you found any issue regarding it then you may also open the thread and once we confirm it then we could add it to our issue tracker.
