Actual page/Theme Customization Different from Cornerstone

Hi guys!

I have a great layout based on the “band” demo for the home page but while it looks perfect in cornerstone, the images and buttons are split up differently when the actual page is viewed and even when looking at it through the appearance > customization mode. Tried deleting the sections in cornerstone and redoing it but it has the same result. The home page still loads the original background color from the demo before loading the pictures on top, even though I’ve cleared all of that out.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Andy

Hi There!

Tried those things but they didn’t work…send a secure note with info above! Thanks for your help!

Hi Andy,

Thank you for the credentials. I have compare codes and notice the difference. On frontend, the second section announcement is inside the first section which shouldn’t be. I tried to save homepage as template and then create a test page and load it. It is working. See this: https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cFVe0roe0i

The difference is you have no ROW on the first section of your home page. Try to add a ROW and then save it. Check this draft page first section: http://andysorensonmusic.com/?page_id=1060
You may delete the draft page after.

Hope this helps.

Amazing! Thanks so much…always a simple thing that I’ve overlooked. Is there a reason that the light tan (original background image from the demo) still loads just before the current sections? No big deal but if it could go straight to the photo that would be great.

Hi Andy,

You’re are always welcome!

Are you referring to the following background color:

You can reset it to transparent in Cornerstone.

Hope this helps.

Yes! That’s it…I’ll look for that in cornerstone. Thank you!

Could you point we as to where to find that? Can’t seem to find it. Thanks!

Hey There,

You will need to edit the page back in Cornerstone. Click the section and in the section settings, find the background color. It maybe in the advanced background options

Hope this helps.

The section is an introduction section from one of the demos with only one classic row. The classic row is set to transparent but the controls above aren’t listed…any thoughts? Lely’s find is the correct color for sure, just can’t seem to get to it. Also, could you explain how the background upper and lower layers work? I really like however this demo section was made since it only has one background image choice rather than upper or lower.

Thanks!

Hi There,

The tan color overlay on the introduction section is the Section’s background-color, not Row. To remove that background-color please inspect the Section and set the background-type to none (the Ø symbol). Or select the background-type color and set it to transparent.

Regarding the upper and lower layer background that is available on the V2 Section, Row, and Columns. Basically, It is a 2 background that is on top of each other. Here’s an example of a use case of this:

Notice this section with a dark image background, there is a headline element in it but you can barely see it because it is a dark text on a dark background.

So to solve this it’s either I change the text color to a light or put an overlay light color in the background image. But changing the text color is not an option for me because I like the dark text. So that is going to leave me with the second option, adding an overlay color to the background-image. Before the designers do this by editing the image on a photo editor (e.g. Photoshop) and then re-uploading to the site.

But now with the upper layer background option, you can add an overlay to your image background without editing it and re-uploading to the site.

And that is only a simple scenario, you can utilize it in any other way possible.

Hope that shed some lights,
Cheers!

Awesome! That makes sense…thank you!

We are delighted to assist you with this.

Cheers!
