Activation locks to host?

Hi! I currently have an old non-Wordpress site hosted on one ip, and my-domain.com points to that ip, while a new Wordpress version with X theme is hosted on another ip, and new.my-domain.com points to that ip.

If I activate X theme, will it become tied to the host?

Hi @mlaufeld,

The Validation feature depends on the domain that you add in the Themeco Licenses page. So the theme will be validated only for new.my-domain.com and not my-domain.com.

The IP matter is irrelevant here as it depends on your DNS settings and it is not important for the validation process.

Thank you.

Ok, so I understand I cannot activate it for my-domain.com and have it work for the subdomain as well then.

If I activate it for the subdomain, I will need to unlock the license later when I move it to the main domain, is that right? How would I go about that?

Hi @mlaufeld,

You don’t have to unlock it, just remove the URL and re-add your new URL to the applicable license, then validate on the main site.

Thanks!
