Accreditation Number on Web Page Keeps Showing as Phone Number on Mobile Phone and it Shouldn't be!

[core365]

Hi, I’ve been working on a website and my client has checked it out on their mobile phone and their accreditation number is showing as a clickable link for a phone number! Is there any code to put in front of the number to stop it from doing this? I’ve done a Google search but can’t find anything - it just tells you how to make a number clickable!

Thanks!

Hi,

You can try adding this in your child theme’s functions.php file.

function disable_format_detection() { ?>
    <meta name="format-detection" content="telephone=no">
<?php
}
add_action('wp_head', 'disable_format_detection');

Hope that helps

Hi @paul.r!
Thanks for replying, however I still want the phone numbers to be working links on mobile phones, so will the code you gave just apply to that one number that isn’t a phone number?

Thanks!

Hi,

You need to add the link manually for your phone numbers.

eg.

 <a href="tel:+4915118956490">+4915118956490</a>

Thanks
