8.1.5 Element Favorites and Presets

Favorites and presets are not saving/loading for Elements. I can set a favorite to a Standard item as well as to a preset. However, they do not save/display when I move to a new page. These were saving in the past but are now not loading/saving or displaying. When I use the search feature in the Elements panel the browser freezes on me.

This occurs in Chrome, FF, and IE.
I have rebooted my machine, I have cleared my cache, I have tried in InCognito/inPrivate.
Server load is a bit higher than normal but not over the top.
Internet connection is fine (296.4 Mbps down | 20.3 Mbps up)

Hi @speckledjay,

One thing to consider with element library favorites is that they are stored in your browser’s localstorage (similar to workspace position/orientation) so if you change browsers or go incognito they won’t be recalled. We’ll probably move those into the actual user preferences object at some point but when it was originally built out we didn’t have the same preference mechanics available that we do now.

Regarding the search freezing up, I’ve seen one other report of this but haven’t reproduced it yet. We’ll take some time to investigate what could be happening there.

If you’re not seeing favorites persist between pages, it could be that something is preventing the items from being saved to localstorage. Could you open your browser developer tools and let me know if you see any errors in the console tab? Thanks!
