After updating to Pro v_2.2.5 post category(s) now goes to a 404 page. Updated (re-saved) my Permalink Settings, updated the Database, and disabled/enabled our plugins to troubleshoot the issue - with no success.

It’s not working because of your custom permalink, you added news-media to the url.
Please note that this is not a theme issue and is outside the scope of support we could offer.

Ok but what led us to believe it is a theme issue is everything was working ok until we updated the theme. If you go to the url below you’ll see the categories function is working properly … even with the custom permalink set up. FYI the staging site is running Pro Version: 2.0.4

This isn’t a theme issue, if you’ll compare the URL structure of the main site and staging, the difference is /category/.
And since you removed the /category/ while adding /news-media/ in your main site, it caused issues. The entire /news-media/category/ is removed, hence, the category became just /awards-and-recognition/ instead of /news-media/awards-and-recognition/. Try accessing the URL in the secure note and it’s not 404.
I’m not sure how you removed it, but you may contact a developer or the plugin author for proper URL implementation.
