404 Error on Page Reload

Hello!

On my latest install using the latest version (Pro 5.0.8), when working in the page builder, if I reload the browser page, I get a 404 error. If I click BACK, I get a “Start Building” message with a button to launch. This gets me back to where I was.

But, on other sites where I run the Pro theme, a reload simply reloads my page.

Is this by design? Or, do you think I have a problem with my latest install? I also get this behavior that takes me to the Start Building and button launch when I click “Edit With Pro” on the PAGES location within Wordpress admin.

Please let me know if I need to do something to fix.

Thanks!
Bill

Hey Bill,

No. The builder will simply reload.

Yes. It could be a problem with your htaccess setup. It can be set manually or by a 3rd party plugin.

With that said, please try doing the following steps.

  1. Testing For Plugin Conflict
  2. Theme Update
  3. Child Theme
  4. Permalinks
  5. Resets htaccess
  6. Remove index.html where you installed WordPress in your server

Only if none of that helps, please provide the following info in a Secure Note.

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin username and password
  • FTP access (ask your web host if you’re not familiar with this)

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts.

Thanks.

Fantastic support! Thank you!
The problem was solved when I performed step #4, Permalinks!

Hi Bill,
