404 Error after changing Permalinks

Please help! Changing permalinks to %postname% leads to 404 errors… and im not understanding how and what to edit in the htaccess is. Sorry I am not super tech!

I check your website and it seems that you have an issue with the connection with your database. I suggest that you reach out to your hosting provider because this is outside the scope of our theme support.

On the other hand, the issue with the 404 page has something to do with the .htaccess file. To fix your once your website is working, please refer to this one. I am referring to Basic WP .htaccess.
