Hello,
I am getting the 403 Forbidden msg when trying to access my site. I cannot log into wordpress because i get this error and no one can see my website. Before this happened I made a change to permalinks in wordpress and things got crazy quick lol I’m guessing that is what caused this. None of my links were working anymore to my pages and I made the mistake thinking this would help. I called Network Solutions about the 403 error but they were not any help at all. I can get in through the file manager ftp files to fix this.
HELP
Hi there,
Please login through FTP then open the wp-config.php file and find the line define( 'WP_DEBUG', false );
then set it to true.
Save the file then go back to the site and you should be able to see the errors. Kindly let us know the errors you are receiving so that we can provide some suggestions.
Thank you.
Thanks for the reply!

Hi there,
First of all please kindly contact your housing service provider.
Then all them to set the files and folders of your WordPress installation as the article below:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_File_Permissions
Next thing to all is to make sure your server PHP version is compatible with the support versions listed below:
http://php.net/supported-versions.php
Thank you
ok I updated PHP to Version 7.0 fingers crossed
I’m able to access wordpress now and my site is showing again thank you! But it isn’t the version I built with the X theme it’s my old site and a lot of images are missing etc. Do I have to install my backup, build all over again or is there a better way?
Thanks for your help.
Hi,
Your host might have rolled your site back to the old version.
I am sorry but we have no idea what happened and your site is currently under maintenance mode.
Please contact your host again, your host will be able to diagnose things much better due to the fact that they have a more complete view of your account and can work behind the scenes with you.
Thanks
i put the under construction mode on until i get this resolved. i called the host and they want to charge $70 for an hour. i am now able to see my layout i chose but cannot edit it ugh
Hi there,
We are really sorry but we cant help you in server related issue. If there is any theme related issue you are facing please provide us your website login details in a secure note so that we can check and give you a solution for that.

ok update! sorry this has been so crazy plus two little ones running wild lol but I am determined to get this fixed. I’ve increased my memory and cleared my cookies (spelling)
I have the option to edit with cornerstone now but when i click it i get the big cornerstone pic. I will send you my login details it is through wordpress via network solutions.
Hi There,
Your site is not loading the style.css sheet and all the images.
Upon checking the files it seems to be related to permissions
When I tried to open : http://delapenausa.com/honing/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Hone-Head-Spares-Image-422x600.png
I got a message which says : You don’t have permission to access /honing/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Hone-Head-Spares-Image-422x600.png on this server.
This is not the the standard. Please conect your hosting service and ask them to review your folder permissions.
Thank you
ok great, i have access to the ftp and can change all permissions. would permissions also be what is preventing me from being able to edit with cornerstone?
Hello There,
The issue here is not just being able to edit in Cornerstone. The 403 Forbidden error is not allowing you to load the stylesheet, JS files and image files which is why your site are not working properly. This is mostly the reason why Cornerstone and other plugins is not working. We need to resolve this issue. One of the solution might be checking the correct file permissions. For added information about 403 error and how this can be fixed, please check this out:

Please let us know how it goes.
OMG!!! My site is back AND Cornerstone is working correctly!!!
I’m not sure if its the last step i took that you all recommended or if you corrected something for me at the same time lol?
The last thing i did was as you said the permission settings again but this time when setting permissions I also ticked the recursive box. Just want to mention this in case it can help anyone else.
Thank you all SO much for helping me get this working again my host was zero help!!!
So lesson learned, don’t let having and raising babies cause you to neglect your site for 2 years.LOL
Thanks again finally logging off now!
Glad to hear everything is sorted now, Shelly.
Cheers!
I just finished all my updates everything is running smooth thanks again you all have a great weekend!
You too, thanks for the kind words!
