360 YouTube Not Working in iPhone

Hi There,

I was curious if there was some reason why an embedded 360 YouTube video works fine on a desktop browser, but when I open up the page on my iPhone 6 (in the Chrome browser) the 360 video does not allow me to move the iphone around and view the 360 content, it’s just a stagnant video that remains in the same spot.

I’ve tried on a few different themes and have had no luck. And was hoping, fingers crossed, that someone would know here, because y’all are pretty smart. I’ve been searching high and low on the interwebs, and really haven’t found an answer as to why this would not work. The page I threw a tester up on was here.

The video works fine when a person clicks through and it opens up in youtube…but I would prefer the user doesn’t have to click through and watch in a totally different window, but can remain on our site and keep watching the 360 video…

Thanks!
Tara

Hi Tara,

Thanks for writing in! It seems that YouTube 360 videos works natively on YouTube App. For embedded videos, you need to try an alternative solution.

For example, try following this (https://www.quora.com/How-do-I-make-YouTubes-360-video-embed-work-on-iPhone) and see if that helps.

Thanks!

Thanks for responding!

I wish YouTube wasn’t so lame lately. haha
I will give it a whirl with OmniVirt. That seems to work.

Cheers,
Tara

You’re most welcome Tara!
