3.2 Update - Modal Nav

After the 3.2 update, the modal navigation does not work as it did before. When I click on a primary navigation menu item with a sub navigation menu it doesn’t expand to the sub navigation. It will just stay in the same place.

If I switch the menu to one of the "Sample (split #1) or Sample it will work fine. I also tried to recreate a new menu and it didn’t work either.

Hello Stacey,

Thanks for writing in! After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using Page Endurance, WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

And please clear your browser cache too. You may use private browsing mode in testing your site to make sure that you are viewing the latest codes from the updates and not the cached version in your browser.

Kindly let us know how it goes.

Hi Stacey,

I’m currently checking the recent update but I couldn’t reproduce this issue on my end. Would you mind providing a sample URL where we can test it, should be on same site on your screenshot (since its menu is currently different).

And yes, please clear any caches as recommended above and test it again.

Thanks!

I am including a video of the modal issue I am having. i have cleared the cache many times and tried the menu on many devices and still get the same result even in private viewing. I have changed the menu back for your viewing at www.plumbshocked.com

Here are the details:

Hello Stacey,

I can confirm that the Navigation Modal element does not display the sub menu. This is to prevent from display long menus in a very limited screen sizes. It is design to display top links only. For smaller screens, we recommend that you use the Navigation Collapse or Navigation Layered element instead.

Best Regards.

So, to just clarify… Is this a bug or was the functionality intentionally took out in the latest update? it has always worked and there is even a “sub menu trigger” section in the element.

Hey Stacey,

Sorry for the confusion. This is a bug introduced in Pro 3.2.0. Please revert to the Stable Release for now.

I’ll post this in our issue tracker so it would be queued for fixing.
