Hi, I am trying to create a second post page for blog posts.

Currently have one post page for company news and would like to add a separate post page for blog posts. Thanks.

  1. Blog page: Select Post page under Settings > Reading > Your homepage displays > A static page (select below) > Post page. This will be your default blog post page. https://cloudup.com/cxCWM_Gjn-b
  2. News page: For this select the category that contains company news items under Appearance > Menu > Categories. https://cloudup.com/ckzGbAgdtRP

Hi, sorry this isn’t resolving the issue of adding a second post page. By following the above steps, I’m losing the existing News page content.

Please advise how i can keep both my existing News page and add another page where I can have blog posts on.

Hi MJBrown,

Thank you for the clarification, you have 2 options to do this, first is with another Custom Post Type. The news should be your custom post type, but since you already set that as the Posts Page, then it would be the Blog posts that you’ll be creating a Custom Post Type. However, since this is a custom post type this will require a customization and fall outside of the scope of support that we can offer.

Second, is you can categorize your posts, a News category and a Blog category, just came up with a different name for the Blog category (to avoid confusions). If you do this the News category and Blog category will have their own index page besides from the News page (which shows everrything).
