2.2.0 Text Entry Discrepency

Not a huge issue but thought I’d bring it to your attention. Could see this frustrating people until they realize that it is, in fact, working.

Summary of Issue:
• Entering text via the left hand builder (the old way) text changes are not reflected in the live preview until you double click and bring up the in-line text editor.

Video of issue in secure note.

Hey there,

We’ve looked into this and haven’t been able to reproduce it. Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look at what could be happening on your site? If that’s ok you can add a secure note with the following:

  • Link to your site
  • WordPress Admin username / password
  • FTP credentials

Thanks!

Updated secure note with details.

FYI - Looks like clearing V2 Element Cache immediately after activating 2.2.0 will correct the issue.

The issue appears to only occur in existing V2 Text Elements that are then converted to inline editable elements after the update.

Scratch that. Still happening pretty badly. Check secure note.

Has the password changed since earlier? I was logged in a couple hours ago to try a few things. My session expired and now I’m getting “Invalid Password”.

Shouldn’t have, see password in secure note above?

Thanks! I just tried it again and it’s working now. I’m not sure why it wasn’t before but I was getting “Invalid Password” with those credentials.

I checked the page again and now it’s working… I was able to see it earlier when it wasn’t working. Has anything changed on the server aside from clearing the style cache?

Also, regarding the dragging issue. I’m not experiencing this on your site either. Could you let me know what browser you’re using?

Hi @alexander - what’s changed is that I had already gone through and done the initial click (which fixes the issue) on each of the headlines. Can probably recreate it though.

Regarding the dragging issue, definitely still experiencing it. It’s only when dragging elements around a text box. For example, try dragging the green button in the pricing table up to the top of the pricing table (it’ll work no problem) then try dragging it back down again and you’ll find that you can’t (unless you drag down extremely far and to the right of the browser).

I should add that I’m using the latest version of Chrome but the issue is exactly the same in the latest version fo FireFox as well.

Hi again,

I’ve been able to confirm the dragging issue. It happens if you have display: flex; on a parent element. It’s improperly detecting that “horizontal mode” should be used for dragging (something now used in the Pro Header builders). This has been fixed for the point release.

I’ve investigated further into the issue where the editors don’t update in real time but have still been unable to reproduce it. If you do find a way to reproduce it consistently would you mind sending us a template we could import? Thanks!

How would you like me to send you the template file? Able to reproduce consistently.

Thank you! You could upload it to a file sharing site like Dropbox.
