Chris StovallParticipantSo I’m doing a major update doe a client, but I can’t do it on the live site. It’s a complete rebuild, but, they have all of their sales data and live sales occurring on the site continually so I can’t move the data to the beta build.
1) What’s the best way to do this?
2) Can the XCS move everything to the live site including images?
I know it can’t do pages but if it can get everything in the customizer moved that would be super helpful.3) This also goes for page templates between sites. Is there a way to create a page template that would move the attached images?
Thanks in advance!

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for writing in! I would recommend that you create a staging site. This is very useful because you can test drive any X features/updates or your changes in the staging area, do the customizations and troubleshooting without disrupting your live site. Once everything is perfect, you can easily and flawlessly proceed the update in the live site. To know how to create a staging area, please check out these articles:

https://maintainn.com/2015/02/how-to-create-a-staging-site-for-wordpress/XCS file is the X customizer settings file. This file only contains the current customizer settings. You can use this to copy or have a backup of all the current X theme settings.
Please do a clone of the current site so that you can have the same setup in the staging area. You can use 3rd party plugins such as WP Backup or WP Clone to make the job easier. You can also check out our knowledge base to know more about migration from current site to your staging area. Check it here: https://community.theme.co/kb/cornerstone-migration/
Hope this helps.
