Julie PParticipantI have the latest version of WordPress 4.6. All plugins are all up to date. I’ve tried to install new updates for a while. The last time I was able to update was to X version 3.2.3. I gave up updating because it wasn’t working and message kept saying “Validate X to enable automatic updates.” Under Product Validation, it says, “Yay! Automatic updates are up and running.” Can you tell me what I did wrong and how to fix it? Now, I really need to be able to edit my site now, because we have a new service writer and the previous service writer is no longer with us.
I can also no longer see my website page information in Visual composer like I used to. Now when I click on visual composer, it takes me to a new website that says “get visual composer for just – $34”. I thought it was included when I bought X. Then when I click add element, element screen pops up, I select one, but nothing happens. I can see my info when i click to change modes and it reads “backend editor”. However, I have no clue how to add information and make it look nice – that’s why I bought X. Are all these issues going to be resolved when X is updated or do I need to do other things?
Thank you very much in advance,

JoaoModeratorHello There,
Thanks for writing in!
Please do the following:
1] Please go to X Addons > Home and revoke the validation.
2] Please login to your account and revoke the license. https://community.theme.co/my-account/
3] After you have revoke the license, you need to re assign the license again to your site using this url: https://www.your-domain.com/. You have to make sure that url you just assign is the same as the one you have in your settings, Settings > General > Site Address
4] Go back to X Addons > Home again, and insert the license again. You dont need to purchase Visual Composer, it is included with X
Hope this helps.

Julie PParticipantThank you. i followed steps 1-4.
before that i was reading:
https://community.theme.co/kb/updating-your-theme-and-plugins/So I exported “all content” under tools (.json). And under X addons, customizer manager, I exported the .xcs file. I deactivated all my plugins to “avoid the caching of old markup.” Steps 1-4 were complete, everything seemed successful on updating on X.
Visual composer says, “Hola! Would you like to receive automatic updates and unlock premium support? Please activate your copy of Visual Composer.” DO I DO THAT AND IF SO, WHERE DO I FIND THE VC LICENSE?
Reactivated the plugins. When to view my page “home” and the elements and data I did reappeared!!! Cleared my browser cache. Went to view my actual website and PROBLEM. Images and text is there but nothing is formatted anymore and both “visable phone” and “invisible phone” appear at the same time. So I went and imported the two files .json and .xcs. closed my site, cleared browser cache, opened my site again. Still no formatting. ๐ PLEASE HELP!!!!

FriechModeratorHi Julie,
You’re using an old child theme, please read this post: https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/update-messed-up-site-2/#post-780902
Deactivate and delete your current VC, and reinstall it under Addons panel. This should install the latest VC that is bundled by the latest X|Theme.
Hope it helps, Cheers!
