So… I took the plunge, ordered and installed the whole package.
My site is (was…) already existing built over a different framework and VC.

I installed everything, activated it but… my *old* content made with VC shows VC-COLUMN-TEXTS and other short codes instead of drawing the right content, along the text.
This is one of the pages for reference.

If I try to edit the page with VC it seems that the layout is there but not the content.
Please help, I feel like I wasted money but I’d rather hope there’s a solution I’m missing at the moment!

(de)selecting “remove native elements” fixed the problem… now, I don’t know if it’s a good thing or what but for the moment my content is back.

fact is… if I click “remove native elements”, as it is suggested even in that article you linked, previous VC shortcodes appear here and there, so it’s not good.
Uncheck “remove native elements” and all is fine, at least visually, but it’s not clear what I’ loosing.

Guys, make it clear. The question is simple. I have had VC already before going the X way (but uninstalled it and installed yours via addons just to be sure).

Why is it so that shortcodes appear instead of being processed?

Moreover if I “fix it” as stated above, clearly, what (if any) problem am I going to create on my site?

Hey there,

That will ensure only X styled elements will be used on your site. You won’t have other Visual Composer elements. If other things are broken, you could try disabling X Integration
