Hi team! Has any one of you had this before? Text isn’t rendering correct. It’s happening in the footer of this site: http://www.bpv-tax.com Googling it I found a bug report but thats like Chinese to me. Anyone got a quick fix or simular issue? Her’s the bug: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=550275

    Hi there,

Thanks for writing in! Since your site is not in English, I could not figure out the issue. However I cannot locate Chinese like symbols. Here’s how it renders on my end (https://snag.gy/84bpNz.jpg).

Could you please point out the issue, so that we can assist you.

    Thanks!

Oh I am sorry. Here is a screenshot of Android Phone using Chrome. http://imgur.com/a/Ost4H It appears to be some sort of bug, called the L-sep bug.

Looks like you have a character encoding issue. This is not an issue with X nor Cornerstone. Would you mind giving us access to your WordPress admin and cPanel so we could check you system?

    Thanks.

In that case, could you give us access to your database and also FTP? Also, I could not login with the given WP admin credentials. Please check.

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

What android version and device you’re getting this? I checked it on my android’s chrome and firefox and there no L-SEP bug. The Drupal fix is by removing line breaks and spaces and manually adding them again. Could you try it too? Re-do your widget content in notepad and add spaces manually.

    Thanks!

Ok I did just that and also replaced the ‘enters’ with break. Perhaps it’ll help. Send a mail to the client.

This isn’t a CMS problem but could be due to character encoding as previously said. A quick solution to this is to not use spaces after an HTML code as they are converted to L-sep in your site. I’ve deleted the L-sep beside your BPV text and didn’t leave any spaces and the L-sep didn’t return (see attachments). Please remove the rest.

    Thanks.

THANKS Christen! How did you manage to view the L-Seps? Or perhaps you have an Android Phone with Chrome?

    Hi there,

Maybe it’s random and depending on browser build versions. I can’t replicate that issue on my android chromes from my previous tests. But the solution should be the same, removing and re-adding white spaces should fix it just make sure you’re editing it on plain text editor.

    Thanks!
