InterNuntiusParticipantI have X Disqus comments activated and they work (meaning they show up) on any page where I have comments active. However on my posts no Disqus comment are displaying at all. I am able to make a new post and activate comments and they do show up. But on all my existing posts, I no longer can get Disqus comments to show up. I even did a bulk edit and turned off comments on all posts, then did a bulk edit and turned them back on again. I’ve double checked the posts and they all have comments turned on, yet the comment block does not show up on any posts.
This is post with comments turned on and it’s not showing up:

InterNuntiusParticipantI created a blank new post so you can see that new posts work, but still none of my existing posts will show disqus comments.

JoaoModeratorHi There,
Apparently we are just able to login to your website with clef and not with the password, please turn off clef plugin or allow us to use password.
Thanks

RadModeratorHi there,
Do you have any hosting’s caching feature? I disabled jetpack plugin since it’s throwing error, now that I activated it again, it’s not displaying anymore on that same page where disqus isn’t working.
Is this old post? Or new?
Thanks!

InterNuntiusParticipantSorry forgot to answer 1 of your questions. The only new post right now is: http://internuntius.com/disqus-post-test/
That’s the only “post” where the Disqus comments are working.
All other posts were done a week or more ago and have all stopped showing the Disqus comments. So of you just click the arrow at the top of the page and cycle through them, you’ll see that Disqus is not showing on the bottom of nay of the older posts, done last week or prior.

InterNuntiusParticipantAlso, I should let you know the results of 1 other thing I tried. Yesterday before I submitted a ticket, I deactivated the discus plugin and made sure no comment plug-ins were activated. I tried using the default comments from WordPress and those didn’t show up on the old posts. I then activated the jetpack comments, which I know worked before using the disqus plugin. That didn’t show up on the old posts. Then I deactivated all comment plug-ins and installed the official Disqus plug-in and activated that. Still that did not show up on any of the old posts.
So I disabled all comments again, and uninstalled Disqus and then reactivated the X Disqus only, like it was originally, and is now. So the issue might not be specifically related to Disqus but the same behavior is present with all comments including native WordPress on all the old blogs.
Note also that everything did work before I upgraded to the new version of X and before all the plug-ins updated.
The updated fixed a couple of other issues for me, such as the custom 404 page. so the only issue I have left is that Disqus is not working on blogs written prior to the update.
Let me know if you can figure anything out. If not, then I think I’ll just re-build all the posts – I only have about 10 or 15 at this point, and that might be the easiest path, if you can’t see any reason for the comments not showing upon those posts.
Thanks again, and let me know.

RadModeratorHi there,
Yes, that’s why I’m thinking that it’s cache. It’s gone when I deactivated jetpack, but other posts still displaying jetpack’s sharing and avatar on my end. Shouldn’t it be disabled on all pages once I disable it?
And yes, it’s working on new posts since that’s how WordPress works. Commenting should be enabled manually on existing/old posts. But since the enabling comment isn’t working, then it could be cache.
Godaddy has caching, its transient is even saved on external caching. Hence, installing transient cleaner plugin may not work. Would you mind providing your FTP login credentials? I’ll test comments_open() if it will return false or true. If it’s returning false even if set to true (Allow comment options), then it’s mean your data are cached.
Thanks!

InterNuntiusParticipantWe can close this ticket. I contacted Go Daddy and they cleared the caches but that didn’t help at all. So I spent some time yesterday and just rebuilt all 9 posts and deleted the existing ones that weren’t showing the Disqus comments. Everything is up and running and back to normal with the new posts.
So let’s consider this finished. I deactivated your user id and put everything back to normal.
Thanks for your help and for looking into the issue.

InterNuntiusParticipantChris it happened again. There was a WordPress update this week and some X plug-in updates. After the updates were installed, the Disqus comments section is now gone again from all existing posts. This is unique to posts only. Pages still show Disqus comments. If I create a new post the Disqus comments show up.
On all existing posts where the posts existed prior to the update, Disqus comments have vanished. In looking at the rendered html code, the Disqus javascript code is all there, but the following div tags are missing from all post pages:
<div class=”x-comments-area” id=”comments”>
<div id=”disqus_thread”>The entire x-comments-area is missing. Like before, turning off comments, and turning them back on has no effect.
This seems be a recurring bug. Last time I just rebuilt all my posts to fix the problem. Now a week later, after the latest updates for WordPress were installed and all x plug-ins updates and theme updates were applied, the disqus comments section is missing again from all posts that existed at the time of the updates. Prior to the updates, everything was working and no changes have been made to the posts themselves.
This seems to be a theme issue with posts.
