    We successfully installed the X child theme and our customization in functions.php works flawlessly for the search rewriting.
    The only issue we have is that we’re required to score high on PageSpeed (through GT Metrix) and the file style.css is loaded even though it’s completely empty. See attached file.

    Is there any way to tell the theme or WP not to load the style.css file if it’s empty?

    Not sure if that is possible or not. To look for a solution or an optimization in wordpress, it is beyond the scope of our support please contact a developer.
