    Hello X Theme Support,

    I’ve been struggling for hours to get the Agency Expanded Demo Content Installed. Neither agency nor church will import. The very first standard import worked.

    I am on a Godaddy Shared Server, so I think that may be the culprit. Is there any way for me/you to upload via FTP? Here is what I have tried:

    • Increased PHP5.ini Memory limits to 512m
    • Set c url f open to on (verified cURL 7.48)
    • Increased PHP max memory and memory limits to 512m
    • Set script timeout to 300
    • Cleared cache
    • Checked permissions to uploads folder, only web user is not set to write

    I didn’t think the file permissions is the issue as the non-expansive themes will import. Please help! Let me know how I can send FTP or WP Admin Credentials if that will help. My connection from home is strong, but the server connection is crap – so if it downloads via Godaddy server connection, that may be the issue. How can we fix this?

    Log from Chrome when clicking ‘Setup Demo Content,’ after Intializing, we get the failure notice and after debug is on:

    JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 1.4.1
    X Demo Importer failure Object {message: "We're sorry, the demo failed to finish importing.", debug_message: "Internal Server Error", debug: Object}debug: Objectdebug_message: "Internal Server Error"message: "We're sorry, the demo failed to finish importing."__proto__: Object

    Thank you,

    Tim

    Hi there,

    Thank you for the information provided. Could you please try updating your PHP version to at least v5.6 or above. Then disable any caching plugins and try to import demo content again.

    Let us know how it goes.
    Thanks!

    I’m using Site5 webhost and currently the highest PHP version is 5.5.34

    I’m also getting the failed to import error.

    I have this inserted in my config file:
    define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’ );
    define( ‘WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘512M’ );

    Also using a user.ini file with these settings:

    memory_limit = “500M”
    upload_max_filesize = “64M”
    post_max_size = “128M”
    max_execution_time = 1200
    max_input_time = 1200
    max_input_vars = 5000
    suhosin.post.max_vars = 5000
    suhosin.request.max_vars = 5000

    I’ll await your reply(s).

    Hello Darshana,

    This particular Shared Godaddy Server restricts PHP to 5.3/5.4 (highest). All caching plugins are disabled. I have a dev environment on a digital ocean droplet, I will upgrade to PHP 7 there.

    Don’t upgrade to PHP 7. The server states, “Your php installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress,” when attempting to view the site. Restoring to yesterday and just lost 6 hours of work. Great idea to go to PHP 7 on my part.

    I had to restore to my backup from yesterday. I lost an entire day’s work. If PHP 5.6 doesn’t work I’m going to be quite upset with your support suggestion.

    I would really like if you could load a fresh WP with X theme and simply install Agency, then export the ‘XML’ file and upload that here so we can use that. Even if I get a solution on my dev server with PHP 5.6 that means I will have to migrate the content to my Godaddy Server as it wont run PHP 5.6.

    Hi there,

    PHP 5.6 is WordPress’s requirement, and not from us. https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/, and we only recommend it to for stability.

    And usually, shared hosting has issues with rich feature software since its environment is very limited. Based on my experience, shared hosting is for minimal setup only as it creates trouble when it comes to process load and traffics.

    I’ll note your suggestion about XML Demo import. Though, isn’t it the same? Your site downloads the import files from our server or you uploaded the XML file, either way, WordPress will install it in the same process. It is where it fails, that is during the installation and not when upload or download, the process is big and could take time and against the limitation of a shared hosting. Increasing memory limit is not allowed for most cases in shared hosting.

    Thanks!

    Please supply the XML Agency file, the limitation is with the server preventing external files. They will not change the security settings, but my upload file size is not limited.

    Hi @timnethers I have successfully installed Agency demo for you.

    @collins1958
    Please try again and in case it does not work please provide us your wp-admin credentials in a private reply.

    Thanks,

    Joao – thank you very much. Would you mind elaborating on how you were able to do it? Did you take my suggestion and export from another site/import herein?

    Hey There,

    We’ve been relocating the demos on our server hence it was throwing errors for a while. We got it sorted 🙂

    Thanks
