    I am running X-theme version 4.5.2 and I cannot update the WPBakery Visual Composer from 4.11.2.1 to 4.12.

    I have tried updating through the plugins page as well as deactivating, deleting and re-adding the plugin through the “addons” section.

    The error I receive is ad follows:

    “An error occurred while updating WPBakery Visual Composer: Update package not available.”

    Please advise

    Hello Michael,

    Thanks for writing in!

    Please Uninstall Visual Composer and then reinstall Visual Composer via Addons under WP Admin menu. Let us know how it goes.

    I’ve tried that, however when I re-install the plugin from the Addons page it installs WP Bakery Visual Composer 4.11.2.1 opposed to 4.12

    Why wouldn’t it update to 4.12?

    I have the same problem. I just tried uninstalling and then reinstalling on the Addons page and it installed the 4.11.2.1

    Is Visual Composer needed? Will my website work right without it? I haven’t created any pages with it because I never bought a license for it so it won’t let me do anything with it. Would it be easier to just delete it?

    Hi There

    Visual Composer is not necessary if you are not using it.

    Cornerstone is necessary if you will build your pages with VC but not the opposite.

    You don´t need to buy a license for VC X Comes bundled with it, for the moment you are able to update up to version 4..11.2 we haven´t finish to test the stability of version 4.12 with X yet so it is not available.

    I my self as I prefer Cornerstone I never install VC when creating my websites.
