bowedp5ParticipantHey guys,
We are having some compatibility issues with latest Chrome browsers for Windows 10 in the X-Theme mega menu on orya.wpengine.com site. We are even able to reproduce this same issue on the demo site: demo.theme.co/renew-1/ For some reason, you have to click on the menu items to open the sub-menu instead of hovering, and the sub-menus get stuck open as well. Do you happen to have a fix for this and can you reproduce?
Thank you! I’m attaching a video to demonstrate the issue.

LelyModeratorHello There,
I am using Windows 10 too and latest Chrome. I am not able to duplicate the issue. The mega menu is opening on hover. See this:http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cbVFeQQmXZ

bowedp5ParticipantHm… so how can we explain that on multiple Windows 10 devices using Chrome that this isn’t working? You would probably be interested in seeing the video I have to diagnose this properly, yes? Any way to let me upload a 1.5mb video?
Any other thoughts on your end?

Paul RModeratorHi,
You can upload the video to your site and provide us the link.
I checked in Chrome Windows 10 and can see your menu without problems.

Have you tried our demo http://demo.theme.co/renew-1/
Please check if the demo menu is working in your end.
Thanks

bowedp5ParticipantIf you read above, you will see that I confirmed we are seeing the issue on the demo.theme.co/renew-1 menu as well. We are testing on Windows 10 devices Dell Inspirons. This is happening on *multiple* devices. We have purged cache from the servers as well as local cache and it is still happening. I cannot replicate on my Mac for any browser at all. ChristianModeratorHey there,
Another support here. I’m using Windows 10 and Chrome and this does not happen on my end. I’ve tested
demo.theme.co/renew-1Please visit http://supportally.com/ and give us all the details (you can grab a screenshot or copy in a text file) so we could compare your system to ours.
Thanks.

bowedp5ParticipantThe consistent issue is that the menu does not open on hover, instead it requires a click to open the sub-menu.

bowedp5ParticipantHere is one system (looks like it’s Windows 7.. not Windows 10, sorry):
Operating System Windows 7 / Server 2008 R2 64-bit
Browser Chrome 55.0.2883.87
IP Address 209.6.3.230
Flash Version 24.0.0

JackKeymasterHi there,
Thanks for the adding the additional details, after further testing I’m not able to replicate the issue myself, though would like to do some debugging on one of the effected sites so we can get to the root cause of this for you.
I see your using WPEngine, can you please send WP Admin login details and SFTP for the staging site of your main domain in a private reply please. We can then take a closer look and try and find the issue for you.
Thanks for your patience throughout.

RadModeratorHi there,
Sounds like you’re testing it on a hybrid device, desktop + touch feature. As of today, there are devices that both excel in screen resolution (even surface or tablet surpassed desktop resolution ) and touch feature. With the availability of Windows 10 on many devices, it’s quite hard to tell which is desktop and which is mobile/tablet through code level. Before, the desktop can easily be detected by screen resolution and if there is no touch feature, and mobile if it has touch feature.
If only a mouse device is detectable in CSS/Javascript, then it could be solved. We’re still looking some alternatives, but I can say that X theme is applicable for all devices of each category except the hybrid, at least for now.
The only solution for now is this http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-turn-off-touchpad-when-mouse-is-connected-in-windows-78-1/, which requires system configuration.
Thanks!

bowedp5ParticipantYou could be on to the right issue here.. the laptop I tested on is a hybrid with touch screen capabilities. An external mouse was connected at the time. I’m going to get one more supportally submitted to you for review to make sure this is the cause. So, essentially what you are saying is that for hybrid devices, Chrome on PC cannot differentiate and will always require a click to open the submenu, yes? Are there any other X-Theme supported menus that will work with the hybrid touch screen devices?

bowedp5ParticipantHere is another system with the sub-menu not opening issue, but also the original video I put in this forum that shows the sub-menus not closing and overlapping on one another.
Operating System Windows 10 64-bit
Browser Chrome 55.0.2883.87
IP Address 24.61.181.167
Flash Version 24.0.0
Cookies Enabled Yes
Screen Size 1360 x 768
Browser Size 1364 x 666
JavaScript Enabled Yes
User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.87 Safari/537.36January 19, 2017 at 1:18 pm #1337102
bowedp5ParticipantThe test above is an HP Envy touch screen.
The previous test running Windows 7 was a Dell Inspiron. Both have touch-screen capability and had USB or Bluetooth mice connected. Any other possibilities to build an X Theme menu that doesn’t have this issue? The client I am working with has this same laptop for all personnel, so it’s obviously causing some headaches.
