    Information:

    X version: 4.4.2
    WordPress version: 4.5.1
    Cornerstone version: 1.2.4
    Hosting: 1&1

“We’re sorry, the demo failed to finish importing” is the message I get when I try to install any expanded demo. I have tried all the forum fixes I could find and then resorted to modifying config files:

Adding the following to my wp-config.php

    define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’ );
    define( ‘WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘512M’ );

I then proceeded to try and activate the error logging with no success.

Everything else appears to work fine, all the normal demos work as expected. Login credentials can be provided on request.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Robert.

    Hi Robert,

Thanks for writing in and sorry you are having trouble installing expanded demos. You may need to check your folder permissions. Especially the uploads folder. Expanded demos need to load files into specific areas and some security settings hosts enable by default are to change folder permissions.

You can check with your host regarding this. Also please ensure that you have rev slider and other plugins installed before importing as the import can’t add sliders found int he demo without the plugin structure in place.

If you still have issues after this, please do let us know. And if so, please provide us with login credentials so we can take a closer look. To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

    – Link to your site
    – WordPress Admin username / password
    – FTP credentials

Don’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

    Hi there,

Please contact your hosting provider and ask them to check the firewall. Make sure to allow any request from theme.co or Amason s3.

Please let us know how it goes.
    Thanks!

    Hello

I’ve contacted 1and1 (my hosting provider) support who have told me they aren’t able to change firewall settings on shared hosting. This was very unhelpful on their part.

Is there another way I can download or re-create the extended demo content, specifically the Education demo?

All standard demos will download and function as expected.

    Thanks.

    Hi Robert,

I Installed Education Demo and Imported the Customizer Settings and All The Pages as Cornerstone template pages. It is all inside the attached ZIP File.

    Please download it.

    Unzip it.

Go to WP-Admin Dashboard / Addons / Customizer Manager and import the the file “x-theme-test-xcs”

After that you can create pages and use the Cornerstone templates inside the folder for that when you create a page using cornerstone, click on templates and upload.

When you create your menu, you will use the following link names:

    <i class="x-icon-home" data-x-icon=""></i> Home

    <i class="x-icon-info-circle" data-x-icon=""></i> About

    <i class="x-icon-check-square-o" data-x-icon=""></i> Admissions

    <i class="x-icon-calendar" data-x-icon=""></i> News & Events

    <i class="x-icon-envelope" data-x-icon=""></i> Contact

    Hope that helps,

Let us know if you have any questions.

    Joao

    Hi Albin,

Would you mind to confirm the following to your hosting:

    – Ensure my site can reach this domain: community.theme.co and s3.amazonaws.com
    – Ensure cURL is working, and allow_url_fopen is enabled.
    – Ensure PHP is configured with the latest CA Root Certificates.

Let us know how it goes.

    Thanks.

Sorry for not posting back on this sooner. I tried all kinds of things to try and figure out what was the cause. What I narrowed it down to is a Plugin. I let time get away from me (so I might not be remembering the exact plugin)and other plugins have been installed, but I think it was W3 Total Cache. I disable the (deactivated it) plugin and attempted the install and I had no issues. If it wasn’t W3TC then it was one of the default or preloaded plugins that was active at the time of trying to do the install.

Glad you sorted things out and thank you for sharing that information.

    Cheers!
