I can not download any of the Demo themes properly. Most of them that I attempt to install from the Theme X addon don’t work and receive a message saying “lets get you started” .. “we’re sorry, your demo failed to finish”.

However, only about 3 standard demo’s i’ve tested worked, however coming out really messed up, and not designed at all.

I’ve also looked at old threads and did the following:

You can try adding this in your wp-config.php located at the root directory of your site.

define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’ );
define( ‘WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘512M’ );
You can add it before the line

/* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

However, regardless of how many times I attempt the same message appears.

Cornerstone issue:

I was never able to edit the site using cornerstone, and I never see the option there. This could also be the issue so I attempted to deactive, and re-install Cornerstone and Theme-X completely, and yet I still can’t download any of the demo’s properly.

Can you please take a look and see if you can fix the issue?

Hi there,

Here is the error,

cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 4693 milliseconds

Looks like hosting’s cURL is compiled with 4-5 seconds timeout. You may try to contact your hosting provider to increase the timeout. Other possible reason is that there is a security or firewall that blocks your site from connecting to our servers. Please contact them and whitelist these IPs 54.231.82.114 and 208.117.43.145 too.

Greetings,

The IP’s provided aren’t blocked and are available for connection with my domain setup.

I have added the socket default timeout time to 60 seconds with the following command instructed by the technical team:
ini_set(“default_socket_timeout”, 60000);
Or add/update the .htaccess file with this line:
php_value default_socket_timeout 60000

I went and tried to install the Agency demo, and it still gives the same error. Could you please further assist me to resolve the issue, your time is much appreciated.

Hi Silvan,

I would try checking with your hosting provider on this particular issue as it sounds like something related to your setup is causing this. Typically, this is due server configuration problems (i.e. underpowered, traceroute issues, packet loss, permissions errors, et cetera). Additionally, your host will be able to diagnose things much better due to the fact that they have a more complete view of your account and can work behind the scenes with you. If the problem you are experiencing persists after working with your host, don’t hesitate to let us know and we will be happy to assist you. Any relevant information that you can share with us from your host is also greatly appreciated as it will help us to better ascertain the source of the problem.

Thank you Themeco, you were right, the issues were completely on the Host side.

They have allowed open connection with the IP’s you have provided me with: IPs 54.231.82.114 and 208.117.43.145

After 2 minutes, I attempted to download the Theme, and it works.
