    Looking good, guys…thanks for sharing! Netpoint – it’s great to see some RTL examples in the mix.

    Hey Hobocop!

    Thanks for the kind words 🙂

    MLS listings will be on his full site once we complete. What you see now is just a placeholder while we build out the rest. 🙂

    It’s a bit of a pain because without a ton of custom dev (which 99% of agents can’t afford), you can’t make the MLS listing software style properly. There is some decent custom plugins etc… but they tend to be fairly bloated.

    As well – Big Island and Hawaii in general is really about community. We wanted the site to focus on the community aspect and the agent himself. Whilst the MLS listing option will be on full site, it won’t be front and center.

    Cheers,
    Terence

    Greetings ya’ll!

    Some very sweet layouts and functionality being developed and shared, thank you all. The only constructive critique I have to offer is that menus are (preferentially) best floated to the left and a redundant logo directing users to the same location as the home page, which is often a menu choice, is taxes available page real estate when displayed on tablets and phones. The way I found easiest to address all this is in Customization Settings, reducing the logo font height to zero and floating the main top nav menu to the left:

    (Remove the logo text & link)
    Appearance > Customize > Typography > Logo > Logo Font Size (px): 0
    Appearance > Customize > Typography > Navbar > Navbar Font Size (px): 14
    Appearance > Customize > Header > Navbar Position: Fixed Top
    Appearance > Customize > Header > Logo and Navigation > Layout: Inline
    (For below 55 for thin, 65 for balanced but thick version, using more height than necessary)
    Appearance > Customize > Header > Navbar > Navbar Top Height (px): 55
    Appearance > Customize > Header > Navbar Top Logo Alignment (px): 22
    Appearance > Customize > Header > Navbar Top Link Alignment (px): 37
    (Below for Cells and iPads at least!)
    Appearance > Customize > Header > Mobile Navbar Button Alignment (px): 8
    (Below for Cells and iPads at least!)
    Appearance > Customize > Header > Mobile Navbar Button Size (px): 20

    Here is the CSS:

    /* X-Theme – Appearance > Customize > Custom > CSS: */
    /* 2015-04-27 – Tested Perfect */

    /* Move top NavMenu left when not displaying Logo */

    .masthead-inline .desktop .x-nav {
    float: left;
    }

    /* Below normalizes the top padding with the em based side padding of top nav bar menu */

    .x-navbar .desktop .x-nav > li > a {
    padding-top: 1.429em;
    }

    I may have missed one or two values, there are so many that control the top nav bar layout! A sample site which is just beginning to work really well responsively, across all 6 or 7 formats we are dealing with, in both Portrait and Landscape modes:

    Here is my current quest for perfection in responsive menus (a work in progress!):

    I’ve built several sites with X and while I think they all look great, kvne.com and toptexashomeloans.com are currently my favorites (in that order). Thank you guys for building a FANTASTIC theme!

    Hi Finn – Thanks for sharing! We definitely have some plans to further expand the header area and great to see some customizations you did with regards to the cart.

    Hi Chad – Really appreciate the kind words and great job on the sites! Noticed some nice customizations on both of them!

    Hi Lee Ann,

    We’re all a work in progress, but I think you’re off to a great start with the site. I’m personally a fan of the larger type faces when you have a couple key places on your site, so I like that presentation. The main thing I might play around with would be the font color. That lighter gray is a tad hard to read for me. I think a darker gray in the #333 range would look great!

    Thanks for sharing your work and being a part of our community…

    Thinking about the intensive and extensive creativity and ingenuity here (yes, * YOU * ), what I feel is warranted is a best of type thread. What have you each accomplished in X and how did you do it, oh yes, please do tell! Smiles. I’m just getting going here but I’ve big dreams and find this platform and framework *will* allow what I need. Now, if I could just figure out why other 3rd party shorts work in Tabs, but not yet, in Accordions … Huge, Smirks …

    Oh, better yet, how about a single site incorporating all the cool stuff peeps have done (such as, the lights above the menu) and the code to accomplish it.

    And, how about your experiences with galleries and various lightboxes, and how you nearly achieved your desired outcomes. In the WP realm, as both programmer and passionate photog, this is my single greatest challenge.

    Bonus points for anyone that shares their Display EXIF info automatically secrets w/ moi … seriously, this shouldn’t be so hard! Triple Smirks!

    Hey Jim,

    While we’d like to keep this thread related to Showcases specifically, we’re considering opening up a forum for members to chat directly about things like this, so we’ll definitely keep this in mind for the future. A forum specific to “how to” for certain aspects of X sounds like a great idea.

    Many thanks!

    Here is another X-theme…more on the whimsical side. http://www.togethergrounded.com

    Love this theme! I also love the idea of the thread you mentioned above Kyle for members to chat directly. I see great sites on the showcase and often wonder “how did they do that”.
