Hi Chandan,
Welcome to WordPress and X! First impression is I like the overall look of the blog minus the “Over 1000 Amazing Professionals” part. Aside from not being aligned, it would be more effective as a content band with the text on two lines and the button over on the right (and maybe a nice background color/texture/image to give it some weight and help it stand out). Otherwise, the blog has a nice, clean, flat look to it.
Cheers!
February 22, 2015 at 6:17 pm #212486Great feedback, Kyle. We recently redid the top section and removed the Revolution slider. BEcause of that it is a little clunky. We’ll need to keep revising.
February 22, 2015 at 11:40 pm #212643Just finished building a large government website in January this year. A lot of hard work has gone into this site! Would love to hear your feedback http://www.afma.gov.au/
February 23, 2015 at 10:03 am #213061Hi Melanie,
Thanks for sharing! I think you’ve done a great job taking so much info and organizing it using features like the mega menu. The only high level feedback I would have would be to look for ways to incorporate more images/creatives as it is very text heavy currently. This is to be expected on a government site, however I think it always goes a long way to incorporate images/creatives that are related to the text and help break it up a bit. Our friends over at hs.utah.gov have done a good job of this and even just launched another site (using Ethos) over at hsemployees.utah.gov.
Do you work for the government or were you simply contracted to put the site together for them?
February 23, 2015 at 11:06 am #213122Definitely still a work in progress but finally to a point I don’t mind showing it to others. Feedback welcome!
February 23, 2015 at 4:19 pm #213383Hi Joshua,
You’ve done quite a bit of work there (had to look at the source to see which Stack it was)…thanks for sharing! I think it is coming together nicely. Thank-you for your service!
February 23, 2015 at 7:53 pm #213489Which stack is this?
February 23, 2015 at 10:31 pm #213553Our forum? It is something we have custom developed. If something else, let me know.
February 24, 2015 at 1:22 am #213654This is a site I recently completed for a customer. Since I finished it, she has rearranged a couple things and made changes, but the basic look remains the same.
February 24, 2015 at 11:52 am #214136Looking good…thanks for sharing, Stanley!
February 24, 2015 at 11:14 pm #214548Loving X! My first website using WordPress and X-theme. Only my second website ever (old website was Frontpage – yikes!). Any feedback will be appreciated.
February 24, 2015 at 11:52 pm #214571I switched themes 2 times and then I found X ( 3rd times a charm ) Any input would be appreciated – http://www.myalteredstate.co
February 25, 2015 at 12:42 pm #215142Hi Spaguy10 – One thing I might consider looking into is the spacing around the elements on your home page, especially the promotion. There is a lot of extra margin/padding around the element that I think would look better if it was lessened. On pages like this I would definitely make the images clickable to be opened either in a lightbox or in a larger size as people will definitely want to see them up close. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Pauline – I think you’ve done a great job! The first thing that sticks out to me is the logo…I can’t really make out what it says. Possibly consider something more like a graphic or a graphic with one or two words at most. Maybe just the {m}. I think that would help with branding and give it a more polished look. The content appears to be great and you have some real strong community interaction which can be a hard thing to come by, so these are just bells/whistles type feedback as you’ve already done the hardest part 🙂
February 25, 2015 at 4:39 pm #215328Newest launch based on X Theme 🙂
Both of the sites I have built on this theme are for tech (software, and mobile app) – so they’re pretty similar. Looking forward to building out my next one that will be for a local Photo / Print / Gift Shop to show off something a little different.
Also should note that I’m making a few final changes to some internal pages – but it’s just about finished.
February 25, 2015 at 9:02 pm #215472Another wonderful example, Shahla (had to look at the source to see which Stack it was)! Thanks so much for taking the time to share it, and we look forward to seeing the next project. As always, a big thanks for the repeat business and contributions to our community 🙂
