Just a simple blog I’ve wanted to set up. Uses link list posts (like daringfireball.net) for linking to offsite links. A slight modification to the Integrity stack.
I’ve purchased a lot of WordPress themes. X is so well done.
November 30, 2014 at 8:39 am #155309Thank-you for that, Doug! We are certainly thrilled to hear that.

I think you’re off to a good start. I would add some more context to your homepage with a clearly defined call to action (what you want your visitors to do as a result of going through the page). The blog has a nice clean feel to it!
December 1, 2014 at 8:17 pm #156242Hi, I posted my website a few months ago but it’s changed a bit since then. I still feel like its lacking in something so I welcome any constructive criticism 🙂 http://www.zenithdesign.co.nz/
December 1, 2014 at 10:48 pm #156308Admittedly, I’ve been really impressed with the X Theme. I used it with the Renew stack for my personal campaign for city commissioner recently. See it at http://www.rawlsfordistrict4.com/.
December 2, 2014 at 8:53 am #156589Hi Katy – The top part is very creative and engaging (did take a few seconds to load so I’d look into compressing the images as much as possible). I think for me the area that feels disconnected is the big chunk of text in the middle. People don’t necessarily read pages, they skim them so instead of trying to place all that info in a block of text, try to focus on a few key points with corresponding images then link off somewhere else for them to get the whole story. This not only increases engagement with your site as they are clicking past one page, it makes the content more consumable. Hope this helps!
Hi Whitney – The site looks great…very well done!
December 2, 2014 at 7:44 pm #157070ok, here is our local Palm Coast website. Using the Integrity theme.
I kept some of the background images rather large and i think that might be the delay to load. Overall our area is happy with it.
There is some custom homegrown code in there for the contact form and the mobile page for local meetings.I really need to learn to build a child theme so I can update this theme without redoing all the custom templates items I have for the (public) contact page and the (private) internal pages.
Just wanted to share our site. It’s not perfect, but it took a lot of effort to get there.
December 2, 2014 at 8:53 pm #157100Hi There,
You definitely did some tweaking there 🙂
Child themes will definitely be your friend when it comes time to update, so I would definitely take some time to read through our article on how to set them up.
Thanks for sharing!
December 4, 2014 at 4:04 am #158082Hey everyone!
Ok well, after four months studying the theme (I’m a disaster as one year ago I didn’t even know what a plug in was), here is my final result. I opted for a VERY personalized home page, as I wanted to give my travel website a design that represented who I am. I LOVE the more serious/professional layouts that you can create with X, I even tried them out but they didn’t feel right with the message I wanted to convey.
Anyway, there are so many options with this theme that it’s almost impossible to chose the right one!
Only one thing: I’d like to have 2 menus: one the top where I placed the “currently in” and the usual menu.
Is that possible? Thanks for your feedback!great work! So many people asked me which theme I was using, after they saw the switch from the old one. They enjoyed it very much!

CleliaDecember 4, 2014 at 12:08 pm #158392Ciao Clelia!
First off, love the creative site…blogs are near and dear to everyone’s heart and it is great to see X powering a site with as much life and vitality as yours. Kudos! It’s even more surprising that you went from not knowing anything a year ago to building that in a year. While we certainly can’t take all the credit, we are thrilled to see how someone that is relatively new to all this can build such a fun and engaging site in short order.
With the menu question, the TopBar where you have the “Currently in…” could definitely serve as a secondary menu, you would just have to hardcode the links in there. It’s a great place for things like About, Contact, and any other quick thing you want people to be able to get to fast.
We also very much appreciate the referrals to buy X! We’ll take good care of all you send our way 🙂
December 4, 2014 at 4:27 pm #158595Here is my latest creation – http://paulhill.biz. It is based on the Renew 4 demo. Not sure if the self hosted video will cause problems, but thought I would try it!
December 4, 2014 at 9:12 pm #158736Looking great, Paul! The video loaded great on my end.
December 5, 2014 at 11:28 am #158982Hello all, the theme is outstanding for us mere mortals who don’t understand this website wizardry that you lot do.. here is my humble offerings for one of my blogs. Thanks for making life so easy 🙂 http://therightprofile.org
December 5, 2014 at 11:51 am #158996Thanks Kyle. There have been a few people commenting on the video either freezing or playing with glitches. I might have to host the video somewhere different if I am to use it as an intro. It would be a shame not to use it as I think it looks pretty cool!
