I love the customisations you have done, especially your portfolio page.Hey thanks! It’s mostly Essential Grid, by http://www.themepunch.com It’s pretty great, albeit a little heavy.
September 7, 2015 at 3:51 am #380727Here’s a site I have just finished for my second client:
http://www.aviationaudiobooks.com
I’m hoping to do more by way of customisation on future projects as I learn more 🙂 Then I’ll be able to pull off some stuff to match some of the masterpieces I’ve seen posted in here! It’s fun this web designing lark 😀

really like the site. What is your store system? I love it.
September 8, 2015 at 3:19 am #381746Hey Justin
Thanks for your kind words. It’s only the second site I have done for a client and I am still learning the ropes.
The store used is Gumroad. It wasn’t one I’d heard of before but the client suggested it to me and I had a play with it. I thought it was pretty good, definitely for his requirements anyway. We wanted to shorten the purchase to as few steps as possible and by adding a bit of code into the header, I could use Gumroad to display an overlay when the ‘Buy Now’ buttons are clicked, from which payment could be made immediately.
The other thing that we could do was give the customer the option of streaming his product directly once purchased, which was important to the client.

September 8, 2015 at 8:13 pm #382650great site, Rick. nearly died riding a skateboard when I was a kid so I’ll have to pass on the longboards but they look fantastic.
September 9, 2015 at 5:07 pm #383663September 9, 2015 at 8:47 pm #383854good stuff, Steve. Simple & clean. I wouldn’t have gone with maroon on the about me & services sections but in the end the colors work very well.
September 10, 2015 at 9:40 am #384492Hi Gadgetat – Looking good! Thanks for sharing your work with us (and great photos). You’re also quickly moving up the license leaderboard to a big thanks for that as well 🙂 One quick thought on your personal site, I like how the first button on the section below the slider is black, however the others are white and hard to see on the light backgrounds. I think if they were all black like that first one it would tie everything together nicely.
Hi Ph_skindoc – Congrats on the first foray into WordPress…glad we could be there for the journey with you! I think you’ve got a good foundation, an the only major thing that stands out to me on the home page would be some of the formatting. The text feels a bit tight around the “Välkommen till SkinDoc hudläkare i Stockholm” section at the top. The way you implemented the flip card is very interesting and creative with a boxed layout…I haven’t seen anyone do that before and can think of some other cool applications.
Hi Division05 – I’ll have to agree with everyone else…very creative site! Thank you for taking the time to share it with us!
Hi Edward – Beautiful site! Great example of how with the right image/creatives you can really make the theme your own. Nice job!
Hi Matt – Congrats on the second gig! I think you’ve laid everything out in a very clean and organized manner. It does feel just a tad text heavy at parts (it’s right on the edge to me) so maybe there would be some ways to think through that a bit but all in all a very professional site. I also love that you have the buy button as the last element in the navigation – a great touch for any site looking to sell something. Keep ’em coming!
Hi Steve – As always, I’m a big fan of your work. You really do a great job bringing a very corporate yet current feel to the designs you’ve shared. The footer you’ve done on the Navasota Energy site is really creative and a perfect touch! It looks like you simply made the image alight right above the top of the footer then in conjunction with the blue background of the footer below gives it a very custom and creative feel. I also LOVE that you set up a site for your daughter and she’s taking initiative like that to start her own business…the apple doesn’t seem to have fallen far from the tree 🙂
Hi Rick – Great to see two family projects in a row! One small little thing I noticed on the About Us page was the “Piper Longboards A father & son longboard co.” could use a little vertical spacing from the text below. Thanks for taking the time to share you and your sons project…give me all our best on his entrepreneurial endeavors!
