I use VC on some sites. It gives an error when trying to update:

An error occurred while updating WPBakery Visual Composer: Update package not available.

I’m prompted to activate VC in it’s admin sectino, then am taken to envato to verify it.

I understand it’s included with X so shouldn’t need verification. I read some other threads on here, I deleted the plugin then reinstalled it from within X addons.

It doesn’t install the latest version and still shows in my WP updates section.

    What should I do?

    Hey guys,

Please try this https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/site-validation/#post-1071578 then install Visual Composer again.

    Thanks.

    Hi Adam,

What version are you trying to install?

Note that you are just able to instal up to version 4.11.2 at the moment.

    https://theme.co/changelog/

We have not finish to test version 4.12 yet.

    Let us know more details.

    Thanks

    Joao

This is not an issue of what is compatible.

I have been dealing with this same issue for months. Every time VC releases an update I am unable to update. Compatible or not, I should still be able to upgrade at my discretion like any other plugin.

Some hosting providers like the one I am moving away from will shut off service if a plugin stays out of date too long. Not a fun situation to explain to the end customer.

I currently have 3 site stuck with this issue until I can move to Cornerstone.

Thank you Tony for your update 🙂

    @Adam

As mentioned above, please check our compatibility guide here (https://community.theme.co/kb/version-compatibility/) and you can ignore the update notice.

    Thanks!
