Catherine RParticipanthi,
I have now seen on two sites I have built and continue to manage that the VC is not updating. I purchased the licence and validated it, but when I try to update from WP I get ‘URL is not valid’.This is the text when I go to the tab VC, Product Licence:
You have activated Visual Composer version which allows you to access all the customer benefits. Thank you for choosing Visual Composer as your page builder. If you do not wish to use Visual Composer on this WordPress site you can deactivate your license below.
what do you all suggest?
thank you.September 12, 2016 at 7:31 pm #1172192
JadeModeratorHi Catherine,
Would you mind providing your admin details so that we could check it on our end?

FriechModeratorHi There,
Please clarify how or where we can see the error “URL is not valid”. The VC that is bundled on the X|Theme does not require a licence key. If you have a premium Visual Composer license please contact the Visual Composer support first.
Thank you.

FriechModeratorHi There,
Thank you for the clarification and yes we do support VC, but I believe the issue is on your VC licence which we do not have control over it. The x|theme does not offer the version 4.12.1 update yet, the current bundle is VC 4.12.
Have you try to deactivate the Wordfence Firewall before updating? If not, please do so.
Thanks.

Catherine RParticipantthank you for the suggestion, but deactivating WordFence did not help.
So when the next version of X comes out, VC should be compatible again?thank you!

FriechModeratorHi There,
Sorry but we can not provide an ETA for an update. Would you mind to clarify the issue on your Visual Composer besides not able to update it? And can you confirm that issue is mark fixed on their changelog? here: https://wpbakery.atlassian.net/wiki/display/VC/Release+Notes just look on the 4.12.1.
And please contact the VC support as well, they might solve the updating issue on their side.
We can do the manual update if its confirm that your VC issue is marked fixed on the latest VC version.
Thanks.

Catherine RParticipanthi, I am not actually having any issues, it just bothers me that all VC sites I had to buy an additional license for will not update to the latest version.
thank you.

ChristianModeratorHey Catherine,
You don’t need to buy additional license if can ignore the updates. Updating to the latest also might result in conflict. Please see the current supported version at https://community.theme.co/kb/version-compatibility/. And, as stated in https://community.theme.co/kb/integrated-plugins-visual-composer/
A good deal of Visual Composer’s updates include minor fixes or alterations to the backend that do not effect usage in X as our version is modified to suit our needs. Additionally, updates sometimes are simply related to fixes with the shortcodes provided with Visual Composer, and since we do not utilize any of Visual Composer’s provided shortcodes in X, these updates are not needed.
You can’t update Visual Composer as X prevents it. If you need to use Visual Composer natively, you need to disable X Integration in Visual Composer menu.
Thanks.
