When I use the embedded video shortcodes, the video controls don’t show up. So for example, with the code below, the first version will display the Wistia video, complete with all the controls, while the second shows it with the X formatting, but no video controls. The embed code is the same.

Would you point us where you have used those? Also meantime you can try the “Embedded Video” element in Cornerstone.
