baxteriousParticipantI’ve tried putting several videos as background types and they won’t play. Are there specs, restrictions, or limitations ?

ChristopherModeratorHi there,
Please use self hosted video as section’s background video. The file format should be mp4,webm or ovg.
Hope it helps.

NicoModeratorHi There,
The file is quite large. In that case, it would be best to upload it in a fast server or a cloud server. Our site videos, we hosted our file in vimeo and please try to optimize more the video so that it would load properly.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks.

baxteriousParticipantWell I also tried a 6mb file and that didn’t work either. I’ve tried files hosted on YouTube..10 mb… to no avail.

baxteriousParticipantI was just on the HOME page and the backgound video came up. I’m not sure if that’s because of something you did… or it just takes a LONG time to load. What is teh recommended file size for a background video that it loads properly ?

LelyModeratorHi There,
Thank you for those information.
Upon checking, there’s an error on your console. It is coming from your NextGen Gallery plugin. Please try to disable this plugin and try again.Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'register_child' of undefined at Object.broadcast (frame_event_publisher.min.js?ver=2.1.62:1) at HTMLDocument.<anonymous> (frame_event_publisher.min.js?ver=2.1.62:1) at i (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2) at Object.add [as done] (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2) at n.fn.init.n.fn.ready (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2) at a.fn.init.n.fn.init (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2) at a.fn.init (jquery-migrate.min.js?ver=1.4.1:2) at n (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2) at frame_event_publisher.min.js?ver=2.1.62:1January 23, 2017 at 12:35 am #1341101

LelyModeratorHello There,
Can you try another video format? mp4,webm or ovg? I have downloaded mpg file and it is also not working on my test site.
January 23, 2017 at 2:20 am #1341172
baxteriousParticipantOK I beleive it’s working now. I converted that .mpg file to an mp4. I’ve used mp4 previously and it did not work, but maybe that was because of the nextgen issue.
THANK YOU!!!!!
January 23, 2017 at 2:27 am #1341176
LelyModeratorGlad it is now working.
