LeannaParticipantHi, I want a video background in my top section but I dont want to use REv Slider as it slows down the site. Please advise. I’ve inserted an optimized MP4 from Media Library with full URL – blank screen no video showing. So I tried Vimeo, same blank screen. The video plays fine in both Media and Vimeo. Please advise.

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Could please clear your browser’s cache? You may need to use Chrome’s incognito mode or Firefox private browsing mode and test your website again. Since you have installed a caching plugin W3 Total Cache, please clear your plugin cache before testing your site. This can cause the changes to not take place on the front end. It will eventually show up when the cache regenerates, but it’s not ideal if you’re looking to see your changes immediately. Caching plugins are best to turn on only when you’ve finished building the site.
Please let us know how it goes.

LeannaParticipantTried all that. Could it be on account that i’m using a laptop which has a touchscreen? I have just understood that X menu does not drop down on hover on a touchscreen laptop, and perhaps also the animated background is also disabled on x. My only recourse in that case is to use plugins which have overcome this issue – Ubermenu to solve the menu not dropping down on hover, and Rev Slider solves the issue of video bg not showing up. Unfortunate, as I was trying to do away with plugins…

RupokMemberHi there,
Please note that there are many known issues with hybrid devices, it simply detected as mobile due to touch feature. And there are features that are disabled or not working on mobile devices, hence, on touch features too.
Unfortunately, there is no certain way to detect a touchscreen. We can use the presence of touch events to determine the device is likely mobile (as this is where touch really took off), but there’s really no way to distinguish between an iPhone, Android tablet, or a hybrid Windows machine yet. Rest assured that we are still looking into this to provide better fallback. We will let you know once we have an update. Thank you for understanding.July 18, 2016 at 9:46 am #1091928
LeannaParticipantok. The slider plugins work so I guess I’ll have to use one of them.
