DominicXXVParticipantHi,
How do I select a demo post structure to use for a new post strong>within WP? For instance there is a “Demo: Standard Post With A Featured Image”, where the image appears small and to the left of the text on the main Blog page (that contains all recent posts). Then there are posts that have the image full-width with the text running over the image (again on the main Blog page). Finally there are posts that have this layout, which are also nice http://demo.theme.co/ethos-1/country-living-made-simple/ I’d like to be able to select which layout to use based on what I’m posting, and I’d like to do it from within WP. I don’t want to have to use Cornerstone to create every post (or any for that matter). Is there an easy way for me to do this? I will be using Cornerstone to create pages, but it doesn’t seem practical to use it for creating posts, if I’m going to be posting often. Also, how do I select which posts to use in the carousel slider at the top, and which posts to use in the main slider? I realize I have a choice between Most Commented, Random, or Featured, but how do I make sure they’re not showing the same posts? In other words, I don’t want posts repeated on both sliders on the same page.
Finally, can I control which posts appear in the sliders, based on the page the visitor is on? For example can I have the “recipes” page slider only show posts in the recipes category, and then have the “wisdom” page slider on show posts in the wisdom category?

FriechModeratorHi There,
Thank you for writing in! Please read each points below.
#1 Where the image appears small and to the left of the text on the main Blog page
That is the default layout of a post on the Ethos Blog (index) page.
#2 Then there are posts that have the image full-width with the text running over the image
It was set as a Index Featured Post Layout.
#3 Finally there are posts that have this layout, which are also nice http://demo.theme.co/ethos-1/country-living-made-simple/
This is just a single blog post with a feature image and random content. Its the standard layout of Ethos blog posts.
#4 Also, how do I select which posts to use in the carousel slider at the top
Navigate to Customizer under the Ethos panel set the Post Carousel > Display to Featured.
Then you can set your post to be Post Carousel Display.
#5 and which posts to use in the main slider
Same thing, set the Post Slider for Blog > Display to Featured .
And then on your post, enable the Post Slider Display – Blog option.
#6 Finally, can I control which posts appear in the sliders, based on the page the visitor is on?
Dynamic slider could be possible with custom development, regretfully this would be outside the scope of support we can offer.
Thanks for understanding.
Cheers!

DominicXXVParticipantThanks for the detailed reply. So it appears as though there is no way to avoid overlapping content with the two sliders, correct? In other words if one slider has featured, and another has Most Commented or Random, there will indeed be overlap where the sliders show the same content, correct?
Also, where does the Archive slider reside? It’s not clear to me, since the only two I see are the Carousel and Post Sliders (which reside on the Homepage).
Thanks again!

ChristianModeratorYes, because they are different so there might show the same content at a given time.
The Archive slider displays in archive or post category pages.
Thanks.
