I have searched previous posts and can’t find a concrete answer on this topic.

I am currently using the integrity stack for this dev site http://dev.anazaosalon.com/. I have created a cornerstone page using essential grid to display my blog posts so that I have more design control than the stock blog template offers. When I set reading for that page in admin>settings>reading it makes the blog post page display as the default template for the theme instead of my custom blog page. I understand that this is just the way X is coded. If I leave admin>settings>reading posts page unselected then my blog page displays the cornerstone page I have built. This is the blog page I made in cornerstone: http://dev.anazaosalon.com/anazao-hair-salon-news/

My Question then is: If I leave the admin>settings>reading posts page unselected in the wordpress admin will it have adverse affects on seo, or other important functionality of wordpress reading, etc.?

I have checked your question in the internet however I could not see any definite answers. I think it won’t matter if you will leave reading posts page unselected. It would be best to contact a SEO specialist so you could find a sure answer.

Is there any way I can make X honor the custom posts page I’ve made rather than it serving up the default template?

Hi there,

Not sure what you mean by serving your own template. All blog home page defaults to index.php as template regardless of theme, and blog posts are usually post listing only. If you wish to include something within it other than posts, then it means you’ll have to edit the index.php directly. I could be wrong, would you mind providing a mockup design or just wireframe design of what you’re trying to achieve?

I would like to choose this page: http://dev.anazaosalon.com/anazao-hair-salon-news/
in admin>settings>reading>posts page and have it display as you see it rather than displaying with the integrity light stack default style for the blog which just has a plain box at the top of the page containing the title and subtitle settings from admin>appearance>customizer>stack>blog

Hi,

I am sorry but it’s not possible, by setting your page as a blog page your page content will be replace by a list posts and will be no longer editable in cornerstone.
