smoothjapanParticipantHi there,
Please have a look at https://smoothjapan.com
All the place where sliders used to be are gone after the latest slider update. I can’t see anybody else having this recent problem so I’m assuming it’s the implementation in cornerstone or x-theme rather than revolution sliders.
I’ve even forcefully downgraded the slider by copying an older version in over ftp but that doesn’t seem to change the behaviour either.
I will copy you in on the login details next post.

NicoModeratorHi There
Thanks for writing in.
The only problem that I see in your setup is that X theme is not in the latest version. Please try to update your X theme to the latest version.
Latest version: https://community.theme.co/kb/version-compatibility/
Updating guide: https://community.theme.co/kb/updating-your-theme-and-plugins/
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks.

smoothjapanParticipantDid not fix the problem.
Please refer to to the front page missing slider.
Also feel free to update Slider Revolution. It’s registered and active. Just don’t ask me to reverse again. 😉November 2, 2016 at 9:03 am #1240745
JoaoModeratorHi There,
Your slider is working fine on my end, It is duplicated, but it is duplicated on Cornerstone as well.
Clean your browser cache and test it again.
If the issue persists please let us know which browser and device you are using while experiencing the issue.
Thanks
Joao

smoothjapanParticipantI’ve been trying to track down the issue as it does indeed seem to happen only to my devices.
At first I thought it is a DNS problem, but it seems to be related to my IP. I have Cloudflare activated and putting it into development mode temporarily seemed to have fixed the issue, however it keeps on returning.
My last guess is that theme.co hosting is somehow keeping a cache I cannot touch. Any guesses?

smoothjapanParticipantBy the way.
I’ve cleared the browser caches. No changes..
I’ve tried other browsers. No changes.
I’ve changed back OpenDNS to provider DNS. Temporary change.
I’ve renewed my IP address. Temporary change.
I’ve updated and downgraded revolution slider. Latest version seems more unreliable but both have the same issue.
I’ve turned off Cloudflare. Temporary change.
I’ve run transient cleaner. No change.Nothing seems to fix this once and for all. Can you clean cache on a server level? Obviously you don’t allow cache plugins on Theme.co hosted wordpresses.

smoothjapanParticipantI’ve turned off all firewalls, ad blocker and cookier blockers too. It’s definitely an issue where the server doesn’t deal me the information based on assuming I have it cached or something similar.

RadModeratorHi there,
I can confirm that it’s working fine on preview URL, but not on live URL. We’ll check this and will let you know.
Thanks!

RadModeratorHi there,
We are done checking and it’s only happening on specific location, we did test it with VPN located in Japan and able to confirm it. The same issue appears in other countries located in Asia.
What we’re seeing which is likely the cause is that the customer is using CloudFlare on the domain, which would take effect on the normal domain but NOT on the Preview URL.
I would suggest that for testing that you may simply disable CloudFlare eg place it into Development mode, and then test. The development mode “should” bypass CloudFlare entirely as I think there could be something with the settings there causing this issue, as we have not seen this issue with other customers sites when accessing their sites from Asia.
Thanks!

smoothjapanParticipantHello again,
Thank you for taking the time to confirm. It does indeed seem to be related to location, and it doesn’t even seem to relate to Japanese IPs either. I have met other people who see this alright.
As of now, I can actually see the slider again myself so while the issue may not be resolved, I will assume that this is a Cloudflare issue and see if I can get in touch with them.
Thanks again for your efforts.
