Wordpress version: 4.5.3
X version: 4.5.2Hi,
On Friday we were attempting to edit some php of our child theme for the mailchimp plugin. Now it appears that our CSS isn’t working properly. To be honest I am not entirely certain what the exact problem is.
Any help you can offer would be great.

JoaoModeratorHi There,
Would you mind providing your FTP credentials so we can check what happen to your style.css
1- It should be fine.
2- We don“t offer any discounts.
3- We can move as soon as you do the first payment. It would take a few hours but it should be done on the same day.
Hope that helps

BenParticipantI am working on getting the FTP information. That information is apparently kept under lock and key, hence our wanting to move.
Is there anything that we can examine in the meantime?

LelyModeratorHello Ben,
Regarding the CSS, we need to check the content of your child theme’s functions.php file. That would need FTP. Although, you can switch from child theme to main X theme so we can confirm that the issue is coming from the child theme. It seems that the line on your child theme’s functions.php file that was calling for the main x theme stylesheet is missing.
Hope this helps.

BenParticipantHi,
I have reloaded the parent theme and it does seem to be a child theme problem. I spoke with our tech department that manages our servers this morning and was told that I would have to create a VPN for you guys to have access to our FTP. I am uncertain of Themeco’s policy on something like this. So, I think we have three options:
1. We can create the VPN that will allow you see the files for yourself
2. You can tell me what to look for and I will do it.
3. We are considering changing to Themeco’s hosting service. We could go ahead and do that, which would give easier access.Which do you think is a viable option?

JadeModeratorHi there,
We could try the first option but kindly elaborate further what is not working in the CSS code you have added in the child theme so that we could investigate it.

BenParticipantTo be honest, I am not quite certain what the problem is. I think severe alignment issues would be the best I can do. Here is the link to the web page: http://ott.ua.edu/

BenParticipantI will say that when I activate the parent theme, everything is aligned and properly contained. I am not certain if that helps.

FriechModeratorHi There,
Add the line of code below on your child theme’s function.php file.
add_filter( 'x_enqueue_parent_stylesheet', '__return_true' );It seems someone accidentally remove that line on your function.php file.
Hope it helps, Cheers!

BenParticipantThat worked! Thank you so much. Lots of panicking people around here the last couple of days. Totally saved the day.

JoaoModeratorHi There,
We are glad to hear it.
Hope we migrate soon to themeco hosting that way will be much easier to help you in a future situation.
All the best,
Joao
