Raceman59ParticipantHello I have a site that is on X Version: 3.2.5 and need to make some updates. Sadly the Visual Composer Backend is not working and it looks like I’m forced into making the upgrade to the current version of X v4.6.4 . This upgrade frightens me to death as I believe that all my visual composer pages will have to be rebuilt.
Likewise I’m not using a child theme. I have NOT made any theme customizations beyond normal Custom CSS.
Is it possible that You could log in to my site and give me your opinion I how best to Upgrade X with the LEAST disruption to the existing layout?
How do I privately provide you login credentials?

FriechModeratorHi Richard,
Thanks for writing in! We advice that you setup a staging site, this way you can update the site and solve issues that might occur without risking your live site. Version 5 of Visual Composer and version 4 of X are major updates so expect some issues after updating (not to mention the updates of the WordPress itself).
You can follow the guide provided here: http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/website/wordpress/duplicate-wordpress-site-for-testing on how you can duplicate your site on a development server.
You can refer here: https://community.theme.co/kb/version-compatibility/ on what is the latest version of X, Cornerstone, and extensions.
Rest assured that we will help you get through this.
Cheers!
