    Hi,

    My site is finished.
    It was a lot of work with some changes in CSS.

    I was wondering. Must I update the theme when there comes a new update?
    Sometimes I see somes text about a childtheme???? But I don’t know what that is.

    What is your advise for the future of my site.
    Must I update the theme?
    So yes, how can I do that so that everything keeps all right?

    Hey Astrid,

    If you only need CSS modifications then you don’t need a child theme since that is used so that template file modifications won’t be overwritten by updates. With that said, if you’re sure you won’t be modifying template files (PHP files), you don’t need a child theme.

    It is best that every website starts using a child theme from the beginning though so you’re ready for customizations in the future in case you need to.
