MatrixFourParticipantHi Themeco,
I am unable to update to the latest version of x theme.
4.5.2 installed. Update to 4.6.1
When I go to update the theme, maintenance mode is enabled, then it says updating, but just stalls there any doesn’t finalize. I leave the updates page and return and it says that “An automated WordPress update has failed to complete”.
I logged into FTP to see if any core theme files were modified and they are not. So it looks like nothing was updated.
I read on other forum posts that it could be an issue with cornerstone, but I am unsure.
Have you guys ran into this issue with the new update?
Please let me know as I want to update the theme core.

JoaoModeratorHi There,
Updating manually might be the fastest solution.
Please do the following:
1. Revoke your API key from X Addons section (check the bottom of the page) and also remove it from your license page on Themeco.
https://community.theme.co/my-licenses/
2. Temporary disable any caching plugins and purge all your server cache.
3. Delete both X theme (/wp-content/themes/x) and Cornerstone plugin (/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone) by connecting to your FTP (your settings will be saved in the database)
4. Download the latest copy of X and upload it to your themes folder via FTP OR you can upload the x.zip via Appearance -> Themes section.
5. Latest version of Cornerstone will be installed automatically when you head over X Addons section. Now you try validating your X theme again and then try to install any other extension and it should function properly.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!August 12, 2016 at 9:49 am #1128792
MatrixFourParticipantThanks Joao,
Will this interfere with any of the settings or content? Meaning will I need to re-setup any type of settings in customizer or will everything stay the way it is?
Thanks,

JoaoModeratorHi Mike,
Not at all, all your data is stored on the database.
Let us know how it goes,

MatrixFourParticipantHi Guys,
Once again the update to 4.6.2 was taking forever and froze. I ended up doing a manual update.
Just want to let the community know in case someone was having the same issue.

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thank you for updating this thread and sharing your experience. The issue with automatic updates in your site could be because of PHP memory limit exhaustion, a fatal error or out dated PHP version. This is just a guess though because I could not check your site. We recommend that you increase your memory allocated to PHP. To increase it, please edit your wp-config.php file and insert these lines:
define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' ); define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M' );You can add it before the line
/*That's all, stop editing! Happy Blogging. */We would loved to know if this has work for you.
On the other hand, we are just glad that you have figured it out a way to correct the said issue.
Thanks for letting us know!Best Regards.
