    Hi There,

I just made the x-theme update and now ALL my background images are gone.

    Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! Since you are using SiteGround, could you please disable the supercacher in your hosting panel? The SuperCacher is developed by SiteGround exclusively for their customers. It increases the number of hits a site can handle and boosts the website loading speed. The SuperCacher includes 4 different caching options for maximum optimization of your websites. You can access the tool by clicking on the SuperCacher icon in your cPanel.

For more information about this, please check it out here: https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/supercacher/supercacher_intro.htm

    Hope this helps.

Also I copied the Plugin folder “Appointkart” from an old folder to the actual folder, a few Minutes after the update. I can’t image that this was facing the issue, but I thought I might be good just to let you know. Thanks!

    Hello There,

I have edited one of your page, https://www.diamond-precision-studio.com/en/mixing-online but none of my changes were reflected on the frontend. Do you have any caching mechanism? Are you using CloudFlare or may have installed a caching plugin like WordFence, W3 Total Cache or WP Super Cache? Please keep in mind that after doing every updates, always remember to clear all caches when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Please let us know how it goes.

    Hi There,

    I’ve no tested everything!

No single caching plugin, no cloudflare, all caches purged. All 3rd partie plugins deactivated.

But the issue is not solved. Also I realised that some of my custom css is no more working, but it was working before…

I created a backup with a wordpress plugin before updating the theme and also I created a Cpanel Backup.

    I haven’t created a childtheme before the update…

Should I restore a backup? I only fear that if I do so and update I will have the same issues again!?

    Thanks!

    Hello There,

I am also confused because I made some big change on the page but it doesn’t reflect on the live view. Please revert back to your backup copy to restore to the previous state. I would also recommend that you create a staging site. This is very useful because you can test drive any X updates, test your child theme in the staging area, do the customizations and troubleshooting without disrupting your live site. Once everything is perfect, you can easily and flawlessly proceed the update in the live site. To know how to create a staging area, please check out these articles:

Please let us know how it goes.

Hi and thanks for the advice!

Should I again try to make the update after restoring the backup? Thanks!

    Hello Again,

I would highly recommend that you test the updates in the staging site first so that your live site will not be affected or go down for any issues that may happen if there are any issues.

    Hope this helps.
