    I’m using X-Eros design.

Can someone help me understand how and where I can find the layout of the results of, when a user reader selects a topic by Category or by Archive?

Meaning… if someone selects May, for instance… then a New page opens up and displays May’s posts. Where do I find and understand… or change the results, of selecting May as an Archive?

I don’t have an Archive page… so where is the layout coming from and how do I change… or replicate it?
    Thanks

    Hi There,

    Thanks for writing in.

You can follow the thread below on how to cutomize your category page.

Hope it helps. Let us know how it goes.

    Thanks.

That thread didn’t seem to answer my question…. or I’m just not getting it.

I understand if you design a page called ‘projects’ that when you use a Category selection of ‘projects’ it will open the ‘projects’ page I designed and display the projects.
But what I’m asking, is say for instance, Archives selection of ‘May” will display posts from May, organized on a completely different page… of unknown origin. Where do I find the layout and change the page that would open when ‘May’ archive is selected.
I don’t have a page designed or created called ‘Archive’ or ‘May’.

    Thanks

    Hi There,

Archive, tag, category, and search template uses index.php template.

If you wish to create custom archive template, duplicate index.php and rename to archive.php. For category Projects you can duplicate index.php and rename it to category-projects.php

You may check this link for guide on template hierarchy :

    Hope this helps.

    Lely!
Exactly what I needed and was looking for. That link should be a ‘must read’ for all of us who are new to this process. It has great detail and answers many of my questions. Especially about hierarchical relationships.

    Thanks again!!
