tiamcdowellParticipantHello,
I see that there has been an ongoing issue for people having trouble with updating visual composer. However, I do not see any solutions for that problem yet. I have 2 different sites using the X theme (2 separate licenses), and I am unable to update visual composer for either of them. I’m getting the message to “activate your copy” of visual composer.
There is no license key specifically for visual composer in the documentation/license data (that I can find), however I purchased this theme twice with the understanding that it came with visual composer.
I have already taken the steps of uninstalling and reinstalling via the add-ons section, that does not work.
Is there any solution for this issue as of yet?
Thank you.

DarshanaModeratorHi there,
Thanks for writing in! What’s your current version of the plugin? All the X compatible versions of plugins are listed here (https://community.theme.co/kb/version-compatibility/).
With regard to Visual Composer, you can simply delete the current version (if outdated) and then install the latest X compatible version through X Addons section within your WordPress backed.
Hope that helps.

tiamcdowellParticipantIt says that my latest version is Version 4.11.2. But that’s the problem. I CANNOT UPDATE.
As mentioned in my original message, I have already uninstalled and re-installed through the X Addons section — for two different sites using the X theme… that does not work. And according to several other people in the threads, it has not worked for them either…
Is there any other solution?

JoaoModeratorHi There,
If you have the version 4.11.2 you cannot update because this is the last available compatible version with X.
More info @ https://theme.co/changelog/
Regarding the message you are getting, do not worry about you still will have full functionality of the plugin.
Are you facing any issues with Visual Composer apart from the fact you cannot upgrade above the version 4.11.2 ?
If I missunderstood you and you cannot upload to version 4.11.2 and you are still a version behind,
would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:
