lisacole1ParticipantHi
On http://www.exeterbabyactivities.co.uk/newsite/ some of the sub menus are behaving differently to others.
I’ve checked through the settings and I can’t see what I am doing wrong. The last menu item ‘Real Nappies Exeter’ is doing what I want it to do, the first item ‘Activities in Exeter’ isn’t.
I want them all to highlight the background of the sub menu item when it is moused over.
Also – can I lose some of the sub menu height?
Can I make the sub menu wider? I used 200% to get it this wide, can it go full width of the screen instead?
Can I tighten up the space between the menu items on the main menu, so there is less space top and bottom but I still have a reasonable space between the logo and the first menu item. And
is it possible to reset all the ubermenu settings to default when I get into a tangle like this?
many thanks!

ChristianModeratorHey there,
Please add the code below in your Appearance > Customize > Custom > CSS.
.ubermenu-main .ubermenu-submenu .ubermenu-item-header > .ubermenu-target { padding-top: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px; } .ubermenu-main .ubermenu-submenu .ubermenu-item-header > .ubermenu-target:hover { background-color: #95a8af; }The issue is a bit weird though as all submenu settings are the same. I couldn’t find any difference.
For the sub-menu width and height, you can set them up in the sub-menu settings (see attachment). Also, please see the documentation in the Help tab in the UberMenu page under Appearance.
Thanks.

lisacole1Participantthanks, it is weird then, not just me 🙂
still having problems1) minimum height of submenu doesn’t set a maximum, which defaults to the whole height of the page, so setting a minium doesn’t make any difference at all.
2) I added the code you gave me and it helps but some of the menu items are working differently to the others.
I set the padding to 25 (in your code in customiser) so you can see the ones it is working on and which ones are ignoring it.3) Can i just set the whole thing to the default settings and start again?
4) Also, I’m sure I saw a page somewhere with all the settings for different types of menus, I can’t find it anywhere on the Ubermenu site.
my eyes are bleeding from trying to find what I need in the ubermenu help section though I really have been looking!

LelyModeratorHi There,
1.) Unfortunately, I am note sure exactly about the issue as you describe. Please clarify.
What I can see on the submenu is there’s a fixed height. So no matter how many the links of the submenu there’s a fixed height that result to blank space below other menus with fewer links. If that is what you want to remove, please add this CSS:.ubermenu-vertical .ubermenu-item-level-0.ubermenu-active>.ubermenu-submenu-drop { min-height: initial; }2.) Please update the CSS to this to work on all the submenus:
.ubermenu-main .ubermenu-submenu .ubermenu-item-header > .ubermenu-target, .ubermenu .ubermenu-submenu-type-stack>.ubermenu-item-normal>.ubermenu-target { padding-top: 25px; padding-bottom: 25px; }3.) Yes. You can just remove all custom CSS and that is the default. Feel free to check the skins and custom styling. Default settings and style will be based on that.
4.) You can check here:http://sevenspark.com/docs/ubermenu-3
Hope this helps.

lisacole1ParticipantThank you, there are 2 ways to change the way ubermenu looks – through the main ubermenu link under appearance and through the actual menu – I think I have set something wrong somewhere but I don’t know where – you have checked through and all the settings look the same to you too.
So, it isn’t a problem with the css, it’s a problem with a setting somewhere, which is why I want to clear everything I’ve done and start again.
Is that not possible?
June 14, 2016 at 7:11 am #1041236
LelyModeratorHi There,
You’re welcome!
Yes, that is possible. Please check this link:http://sevenspark.com/docs/ubermenu-3/settings/menu. It’s under General Settings:
The General Settings tab controls settings that are global, and not just for a specific menu. This is where you configure settings like whether certain assets are loaded, add CSS which will be applied site-wide, configure script settings and the responsive breakpoint. It is also where maintenance tasks like migration and resetting settings are housed.
See also attached screenshot.

lisacole1Participanthi and thanks
those settings don’t clear everything.
I’ve reset style settings and style customisations and taken your code out of the customiser.
I’ve set the skin to Vanilla and changed it to a vertical menuI’m still getting spacing differences between some of the sub menu items.
can I delete the plugin and reinstall it? will that work?
June 14, 2016 at 12:59 pm #1041825
JoaoModeratorHi There,
You could try that.
And when WordPress ask if you wish to delete all the plugin data when uninstalling also mark yes.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks
Joao

lisacole1ParticipantThanks, I’m just trying that now but it didn’t give me the option to delete plugin data.
June 15, 2016 at 1:21 am #1042736
lisacole1Participantnope, same problem, is another vertical menu coming out as an addon soon? If so I’ll give up on this one.
