Vikas RParticipantMy website: http://www.gamertribute.com
I recently updated to the new X Theme version (with UberMenu). First of all, the extension is great and I can easily set up the general skin/look of the menu bar through Customizer –> UberMenu –> General/Miscellaneous. The skin I have chosen is “Shiny Black.”
However, I noticed that the settings I change via the Customizer do not translate to the actual site even after I save the settings. The changes ARE visible as a preview appearance while I have the Customizer still open, as seen here:
http://i.imgur.com/fDZL3Qy.jpgNote the Orange color for font for the main subheading titles and the ‘Merriweather’ font, as well as the general increased font size for the menu links.
These changes are visible ONLY when I have the Customizer open. But after I save these changes and close the Customizer, this is what the site’s menu actually looks like:

As it looks now.Note the colors are default, font sizes are default, and even the font type goes back to its standard type. None of the changes I made through the Customizer take effect except the General skin style I chose (in this case, Shiny Black). When I look at my WP-admin dashboard under the UberMenu section, the changes I want made ARE present because I saved them. It just never translates to the “in real life” website.
This is very frustrating because it doesn’t allow me to modify the UberMenu that much apart from keeping the default look based on the skin. I can add pages and subpages but I can never change the overall appearance and font sizes. I believe there is something overriding these Customizer settings – perhaps it’s my own site’s base settings? I use the Icon Stack with the ‘Lato (Google Font)’ setting in Typography. I’d rather not mess with that though.
Please help me out with this, it would be much appreciated.

ChristopherModeratorHi there,
Please disable cache plugin and try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
Let us know how it goes.

Vikas RParticipantHi, I deactivated all my 3rd party plugins, including those from Google. This meant I had very few remaining plugins left (I was afraid it would break my site tbh).
Unfortunately, the UberMenu still didn’t update with Customizer’s settings when I had all of those plugins deactivated. I even cleared the plugin cache but that didn’t fix it. It worries me since each plugin I currently have active is integral to how the site needs to work anyway.
Please let me know what I can do next. I suppose worst case scenario is I would have to just live with the default skin setting =/

RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for writing back. I have tested the Customzier settings and seems working fine. Currently you have set Shiny black which is already showing fine on front-end too – http://prntscr.com/bdhenr
Kindly check again carefully and let us know what exactly you are facing.
Cheers!

Vikas RParticipantI think you misunderstood what I was asking about. As in my OP, the issue is not Shiny Black working or not. I made additional changes within Customizer to make the subheading pages dark orange and increased the overall subheading font size and also changed the font type to Merriweather. Though they show up in the Customizer preview, they do NOT show up in the website in real time even after they are saved.
Only the default settings with “Shiny Black” show up but none of the further adjustments I make are updated. This is evident in the screencaps I provided in the OP. The first image is with the Customizer preview. The second image is how it actually looks in real life (not preview).

LelyModeratorHello Vikas,
Thanks you for the clarification.
Please check this:http://sevenspark.com/docs/ubermenu-colors
As stated on the link:Please note that the Style Generator will build an entire skin for you, it won’t override colors from existing skins.. Your ubermenu is still using Shiny Black skin. If you want to use style generator instead of Shiny Black skin, please refer to this link:http://sevenspark.com/docs/ubermenu-style-generator. We have to set the settings under Style Configuration.Hope this helps.

Vikas RParticipantThank you so much for the information. I think what I’ll do is just use the style generator to configure a specific menu color scheme. I didn’t know that choosing a skin (like Shiny Black) would override the other specific adjustments.
